we all know that a very small percentage of ladderites are posting in these forums. and it is a shame. so i just had an idea for advertising the forums. may be an admin could do something along these lines. to get to the forums you have to press a tiny little button on the left-hand side (i'm sure button is the wrong word). so it can easily go un-noticed. may be it could be mentioned on the homepage. with some explanation of what goes on here: strategy, technical discussion, bitching, moaning, back stabbing etc. dunno if this is possible. another thing would be for the admins to advertise a direct address to it in the lobby. this would attract non-ladderites as well because by visiting the forums they could get a flavuor of ladder.

Maybe on invitation reply the forum link should be at the very top and not at the bottom after 8 paragraph. If the link was inserted ABOVE the activation link.

Well people don't even read the first two paragraph's about there being two email's to get Activated, so I'm not sure what it would take to get them to click on the link to the fourms CS

Alot of people have posted atleast once in these forums that implies they know about it but just dont want to follow what happening here thats all.
And with a direct link from myleague i think VERY few ladder players dont know about this forum

I think a people read the strategies that have been posted here. The strategy guides on Apolyton and CivFanatics doesn't really cater towards the MP population. Perhaps they just haven't reached the level of game play where they feel they can contribute.
If you look at the number of members, there are more forum members than ladder members. Maybe time to cleanse the system?

no apolyton and civfanatics dont cater specifically for Mp play. but i would certainly recommend any MP player to have a look there. there is a lot of useful information there that is certainly applicable for Mp as well as SP and i would recommend that anyone who wants to improve thir game should take a look at these very active forums.

There is NO easy link to click on our ladder main page to come to forums. If its there, I dont care enough to find it and always end up googling to find the forum.
My suggestion, put a friggin link on the ladder page. Really not rocket science here, if there is a link on the ladder page its not standing out.

There's a little link to the left, if I recall. That's how I discovered the forums - but I just keep it bookmarked.

Anyone with connections to the game developers... *hint* *hint*
The multiplayer gamers have spoken. Now bring forth our bounty in the next patch.
BTW, we use Team Speak, due to the voice chat being broken....I only tried it during my first week of playing mp. Anyone tried it since November?

Your right that it's not flashing neon, but then neither is the report match or find player links and no one has problems with those. And every new ladder member has a link to the forums in there invite email I send them so I think we are dealing with a lazyness issue, but I will ask DTA what he can do to the forums link on the ladder site.

2 pages? The forum link is the 3rd link down under the "Civ4players" heading, on the left menu of the main page, but we are working on solutions to making a link to the forums more visable on several area's of the myleague site that people have to visit. MTF.

Alot of people are not posting due to those that flame would be my guess. A person does not wish to post his/her views only to be called studid or whiner or other such names. This forum has calmed down quite a bit recently but it will take a while to get people to once again trust that they can put a post up without being flamed.

It's the internet man. Thing has been around for over 12 years. Not much has changed in that time period. If you don't say anything, you'll never effect much change. If you say something, it seems like the wrath of God is being rained down upon you. Until people get over that fear and just realize that an opposing viewpoint isn't the end of the world, they're missing out on helping the community to be better.
Plus, I think the majority of us frown upon people who flame others and will back the party being attacked. We got yo back suckas. Come out and play.
