Dear Friends:
The CIV4Players Admin Board is conducting a search for volunteers to become Ladder Admins and/or Tournament Directors.
Admin duties include: helping in Lobby, handling non-reports, resolving disputes, processing new member applications, and general management of the board.
TDs run tournaments of course. You have to be willing to run at least one tourney a month.
Please email me if you are interested yourself, or if you wish to recommend someone.
Best, SPM

SPM, I applied to become a TD on the Saturday of the last CCC. I understand that KC Random was away due to his work situation. I know that the ladder admins would like at least 1 TD per clan and I'll volunteer again.

Oh....awesome.
I don't think I can be much help for this CCC as a TD, but perhaps for the next one after this. Need to go over the rules with a fine comb and such. Hopefully I don't disappoint.

I have a request.
Any new admins actually play online. And dont get payed by firaxis to "F" over the multiplayers by giving firaxis false senses of security. In other words, no fake admins pls.
We need admins, not firaxis spokes men.

Zerza do you really have to derail every thread with that?

I am not a member of the ladder atm ,but I would be willing to assist if needed .
I offer this help because I see the ladder as a powerfull organization in the civ MP community and would like to see the MP community for this game to florish and prosper ,and before zerza opens his yap no I am not employed by firaxis.
I am infact still working on my alternative game lobby for civ games listing hamachi ip games and normal direct ip games this site will expand beyond just listing games to cover the whole civ MP scene eventualy =p (been hooked on civ since civ 2).

I volunteered my time to serve as an admin for this ladder but the admins chose dusty instead. I like Dusty a lot, but apparently he was not a good choice. I am not sure I am a good choice either because I KNOW I could not count on some of the current admin staff to support me when I need it, and I KNOW I could not support some of them.

Zerza do you really have to derail every thread with that? yup. Since I cant stomach an online game due to bugs and frustration, and our online diplomat to firaxis told them its bug free so they stopped testing it. Levi was a good admin in civ3, and I think he would be here as well. His dedication is truly noted. Civ4's ladder will never take off until we get some dedicated admins. Civ3 had very dedicated admins at its start, Im just not seeing the same level of passion on civ4.

It doesn't matter who you "vote" for because admins are not elected. The admin oligarthy will select those who emulate themselves. It's the nature of the beast.
Levi has a long history with the senior admins and doesn't believe in emulation.

I only believe in emulation to the extent that it lets me play classic SNES RPGs.

Levi has a long history with the senior admins and doesn't believe in emulation. You should atleast state a caveat that this is just your opinion Whiplash and not fact. The Admin team selects people they believe have "what it takes" to be a good admin. That does not mean, as you imply, that we only will take people that are clones of the current admins. Dusty certainly added to the collective knowledge and experience of the admin team, and I am sad to see that he has decided that it is not a path for him. CS
