Take a look at this image: We were in a duel and my opponent said he used an artist in his capital and expanded the boarders.. He got almost 250 points in 1 turn. I've never had an artist give that many points. Is something screwy? Is he cheating? I have the save . . . Thoughts, comments? -Zan ____________________________ Civ IV:Warlords FAQs

It would certainly be possible to drop an artist, maybe get a tech, get some population increases in one turn, even build a national wonder, and get 250 points.
Is it likely? No. Is it more likely than him cheating? Yes.

Is something screwy? Is he cheating? I have the save I don't think that it's cheating. You can check a culture graph, there should be a VERY big spike 20 turns prior to this score spike if he used an artist. But i don't think that artist in capital may give +250 to score. Artist in a city on open can do it IIRC. No. Is it more likely than him cheating? Yes. Wonder may give 13, maybe 26 points max. Tech? Well, Renaisance era techs give about 50 points i think.

Artist in the open wouldn't do it by itself, I think (isn't it something like 1.5 points for each land tile on a standard-ish map?) but it wouldn't be inconceivably wrong. Not sure.

yeah artist bombs give crazy amount of pionts on deul map, i doubt its cheating.
Also other things may have happen around the time of the artist bomb, like a pop increase or a wonder.

But a higher percentage of the total land is taken on a duel-sized map, so it would most likely give more points per tile.

It's not cheating. I do that everyday. I only cheat once per week - you have balls!
