Yeah it's kinda difficult to screenshot a 7 (8?) second delay

Well due to the fact that enforcing it if we made it illegal would be next to impossible, I say we let everyone use it legally, however I will be bring this to the attention of the developers to get this exploit fixed in the XP if not in the patch. I really don't see it as a big exploit and it requires a fair bit of co-ordination to pull this off.

Unfortunately, this wasn't caught and will almost certainly not be fixed before the expansion. (It will be fixed there, I expect.)
It's an advantage, but only in a limited number of situations, IMO:
1- Where the defender does not have sufficient road and mobility to strike anyhow
2- Where there are not forests or hills intervening
3- Where the defender does not have a cultural presence large enough to see the threat coming.
There IS an advantage to the attacker, but only in situations where the defender is ill-prepared. I could see Renny-cav-rush starts being the exception, and maybe on very rare occasion chariot-rush, but not a major enough issue to go making a rule for people to remember.
Frankly, if you see someone move a single unit very early in that direction against your city... pick a counterunit or two from your city stack that should be waiting, and swat it. Problem solved.

I guess I failed as a tester, as I played the game only to see if things pretty much worked as intended. sure I tried to break the game but never tried to see if there was a way that I could cheat , or exploit. Like for instance, I always ended my turn when I was done, I did not wait 2 extra minutes to move to see if I could exploit the timer. But I am a considerate person and do not like to wait for others, so in turn I do not like other to wait on me. And another thing, why do so many look for ways to exploit rather than simply play game, are so many of us cheats? And it also seems to be a double standard, I mean if you are the only one who knows about such things, you keep it to yourself, but when the same method is used against you, you cry foul... I have always thought of games were meant for entertainment, and some of you all are to serious to be having any fun. So answer me this.... Why do you play err I mean work?

the previous post makes very little sense to me, as soon as i realised that it could be done i bought it to everyones attention, i actually discovered it by accident. i have better things to sit around all day purposely looking for exploits, i thought it was a glitch when it worked first time....if someone uses it to kill me so be it!

First off, this is a pretty big find and people just dont "see" its potential yet. Second off, This is in fact an "Exploit" and not a loophole in the strategy/balance structure of the game. I don't use exploits, but due to the tragedy of the commons, I fear that many will use this one and this is going to dramatically affect the front line warfare of the game to the advantage of the attacker ofcourse. Sounds like an exploit, if I saw someone do it in game I'd report them for cheating, not because they are cheating but it's now a known exploit and I'd go on reporting people until they made a ruling, it should be patched out. It's obviously counter to the spirit of the game just as double moving was, which is why it was programmed out of CIV. Which probably drove it's advocates to weep into there shawls and wail at God.

If the Double Move existed in CIV, you'd see a lot more 20 stacks of chariots, Horsemen, and knights
Bring back double moves! lol
If nothing else, they made the game more exciting
