Ouch I think it would have been wiser to keep quiet about this until after they'd fixed the first one! Now we just think they're only after our money.........

I find it disheartening that they are applying resources to a new product rather than getting the original in good shape.

For me it was a really sad day when take2 took over the civ franchise, an inferrior product, combined with this, money hungry attitude is not good!!

Remember there is a patch pending very soon. It's hard to say right now wether Take2 is good for Civ or not, but they do add another layer of approval for patches and just about everything else. But to be fair, Infogames was not a good publisher either.

It may be sad Whip but hardly susprising, XP's make money patches don't, although Firaxis does realize that Customer support is important, Take2 is likely more interested in a 2nd quarter profit CS

We wait SDK, patch, pitboss, lobby correct and them they work for an add-on which will leave in beta like Civ4. Money, always money, only money

I believe the "Expansion Pack News Release" stated "more than one million copies of CIV sold."
Times 50.00
Justifying ANY "lack of support" with those numbers only 5 months after game release while them wanting me to spend more money on a still less-than-effective multi-player game does NOT give me the consumer "warm-fuzzies."
Sorry, my peer is just not connecting with this.
(and instead of just whining about it, I've written letters to various levels of Take2 and Firaxis)

Woohooo MGLs!
Hmm I wonder what Auggie Caesar's traits will be? I want to say.... Financial, Expansionistic? Or will there be a new trait in the Warlords expansion?
looking forward to it ;D

Either I'm reading this wrong;
Features
Core Game Tweaks and Additions: Expanded features and gameplay tweaks will be made to the core game.
Post-Release Patches and Game Upgrades: The pack will contain all of the patches and game additions (pit boss, etc.) yet released for Sid Meier's Civilization IV.
sounds like there aren't going to be any patches. They will be part of the expansion pack. Am I wrong?

I don't think that's what's intended. That would be pure blackmail.

Remember that the Marketing department in any corporation often gets its own ideas of how to make things sound good. That line of text is there for the Joes who don't have internet/have dial-up they use for AOL only.
Firaxis is not evil - there's a patch due quite literally any day now.
