Pls tell me, I have read ladder rules, but still can I have your opinnion if I have right on this issue. Last night was interesting ladder cton played, on small inland sea map, with 6 players. As I was in preety bad situation (no iron, no horses and no copper near my 2 early cities) i decided to focus myself on pure survival. Player on right side saw that i lack metal, and choked me with his stack of axemans all the time from start of the game. I headed for construction and managed to create 6-7 catapults with 30 turns to end . As I was last with points, i had nothing to lose but to try last attack to my choker on the right side. As I moved my stack of archers and catapults toward him, i noticed that player who was on my left side, decided to get past me, and attack same player as i was trying to attack (prob. he concluded that he is more worth target, as I was last and he was one place higher than him) So he just passed bellow my cap with his stack and headed same direction as my stack. After last 10 turns, player that we attacked barely survived, but he was very upset at the end bitching us that we played against the rules, and that teaming up against other players is not allowed in ladder cton, and that he will write to admins about this. Now, i know it is true that intentional and coordinated teaming against others is not allowed, but me , and this another player who attacked him never exchanged any message during whole game, he attacked him prob. because points, and i attacked him because he choked me whole game. Was this attack legal or not, by the ladder rules ?

Lol. Very interesting indeed. But yes, it was perfectly legal. Frankly, if I were the person rolling through your lands, and you were last, I would have also ignored you. I've actually done this in the past (I had a stack of 20 immortals, and I went accross 2 civs to kill the 3rd civ, that had the highest points in the game; lol, he had 1 archer defending his capital).

i done this about 2 weeks ago aswell, and countless number of times in C3C.
It is legel but risky, that stack could easily have been hit with catapults and then plan over. Also takes like 15-20 turns to march units to other opponet, which is a long time, if the stack is of a decent size, it will pretty much kill the attackers science.
So legel but very risky, wouldnt recommend it has a standard thing to do.

Very sneaky. If you see a stack wandering through your own lands to attack someone beside you, then you can join the attack and it will still be legal

Attacking the point leader is fair game whilst attacking a civilization which isn't going to challenge your end-game position is a luxury.
I can remember sending a large stack of Mongol horseman across 3 or 4 civs lands to hit someone ahead of me in points. What surprised me most was no-one challenged it on its path, the other players showed far more perception than I would have normally given credit to them for.

Let me guess..... The map was Inland Sea?
If the map were pangaea, I'd probably be suspicious. But with inland sea you only have 2 neighbors. If I were last in points I'd probably empty my cities to help the guy passing through my lands to get to the points leader.

Or maybe empty your cities of units and head for the neighbour that just passed through your lands.

agrokoka yes and yes it happens all the time, you can either die, or let the strong player through in most occasions, if you attack them they will kill you and go on anyway. This is all part of the game.
Having said that, sometimes it's best to start building units at that point, you never know, he may be weak at home too after sending a stack, a 5 unit stack with your first force might reap a world of pain on him, and your last so what have you got to lose?
You may be a willing accomplice, but if you think his stack can kill the guy to the right outright, then bluff him, pull back and go rain on his parade ;D
