If a player Quits on their team in the middle of a game, especially one they are winning, and for stupid reasons, they should be banned from the ladder following a report from their team mates. I just got out of 2 of the most pathetic scenarios and I am very upset at a certain person I am not going to say (their names), but I will never be on my team as that person again and they are complete garbage in my book. I was forced 2 play 2 teamer games with the person. The First game I played with them they lost their capital in (7) turns. The second game, our team was winning by an insane amount of points. and were out tecing and producing our enemy and he just quits because he doesn't like to play heads up against a certain other another player. Words cant describe the anger in being forced to quit a game you have spend a lot of time on and are supposed to easily have won...........................

quitting a game, whether teamer, cton, ffa, etc on the ladder is punishable by the quitter having to report to ALL in the game (including those on his own team)
screenshot/save game and forward to admins for their review as well as file a non-report.

Thats hardly means anything, if your not too bothered about stats or if you reset often, then who cares if you have to even make 100 reports.
But the flip side is things happen in the real world, that mean you cant continue the game. hardly worth crying about IMO!!

A) Players quit for all kinds of reasons. What would be "stupid" to one player is very much not to another.
B) Banning a player for dropping in one game is like taking a shotgun to Rover for peeing in the house once.
C) It's a game. Get a grip.

When ppl leave, you can always find a sub for them. Then your ally reports to you, and you can still grab a good player of your choice to fill in the place - its a win win situation for you!

C) It's a game. Get a grip. does "get a grip" infer that MGT needs to get a grip on his sanity? Everyone that plays mp games dislikes quitters, and everyone also realizes that players cannot always finish games they start. I am somewhat surprised that an admin would infer that MGT is insane because he takes the game seriously and dislikes quitters.

For the record I agree with Levi, it is a game but some people are very competative that is just human nature, I for one wont speak ill against Game because in converstion I have found him to be a nice guy, a little over competative maybe but whatever, so long as he enjoys himself and doesn't destroy the enjoyment of others let him say what he feels. I see alot of intolerance already on the forum(not directed at you Fried) for once but some players are just really really competitive, I know what this is like becuase as a kid/teeneager I was absurdly so, I later came to realise that fun is the be all not winning, but I certainly can't blame anyone from taking the counterview.

Quitting in teamers should be punished harder than having to report...
In cton's its no big deal, but in teamers you rely on your teammates, if one quits for no reason without trying to get a sub or something, then they should be punished by some form of penalty.
Naturally you can't do anything about teammates crashing or going link dead. Maybe we implant an admin password so someone can sub in that case?

the report to all was a big improvment which was made to the big problems in civ3 future teamers, where drops happend nearly every game at some time -
I think it s a big enough punishment to get a bad reputation

Quitting in teamers should be punished harder than having to report... Like what, lethal injection? Sometimes things come up, for example if the game is taking longer then expected and you have football practice. People that do it really often, others dont play with them, that is punishment enough!! I dont think this post was made in regards to ctons anyway.

I agree with Tony. A player who quits a teamer for no valid reason soon finds themselves not being invited to play in good teamers anymore.

Gametheory, just don't play with people you dont trust. If they lost their capital in 7 turns the first time, and had a low rank, you shouldn't have played with them the second time. Leave the game if you dislike him so much. I think the problem with game theory is civ 4 seems to be his life and he has devoted his life to finding some aspect or aonther in the game to whine about. I think having to report to everyone is punishment enough. I find game theory to be a team-nazi who can take the fun out of any game if he is on your team. Not everyone is as desperate to get to rank #1 as he is.
