We are currently planning the event's list for the NC 7, the first C4P NC, and we will welcome any suggestions. We do not want to copy the exact same events from the CCC but we will most likely play some of the same things like a 3v3 ren or a 4v4, but will us different settings then were used in the CCC.
Suggest away.

A Nice Always Peace Epic Ironman style game might be Fun Perhaps a Modern era Cton in preparation for BTS anc Ctons and Medi Teamers are becoming Tedious IMO Perhaps a 1 City Elim Cton/Teamer could be cool or what about a UQC Teamer

All events should be represented from ladder types to open types to earth to peace types. this is to test all strengths from all countries.

It's probably best to keep the events as standard as possible. Playing Earth maps or Always Peace isn't going to prove which country is the best, only which country is the best at playing off-the-wall weird game types.
There are definitely some settings that we don't use in the CCC, but could very easily incorporate into an event such as this:
Classical Small Balanced 3v3 Medieval Standard TBG 4v4 "Classic" Renaissance Teamer Inland 5v5 Modern Small HB Wheel 3v3
Mix in a cton, an OCC, an OCC teamer, and 1v1 and you have the makings of a fun weekend!

Pls be careful with the plannings, teamers like 5v5 or 4v4 might needs rosters of 15 or more players when they overlap in time ! I guess you wanne see a lot of different nations And why not weird games typ ? Make it a fun tournament and not a "which country is the best"

Agreed Whats the Point of Having a New Tourney If its Just A Mirror Copy of The CCC! Needs to be More Fun Use a Few Unusual Settings And Mods Not the Same Games as CCC something Wacky and Different but also Fun!

Got It! Each national team has to play its actual corresponding civ from the game! The Americans have to play as America, the Brits as the Brits, the Canadians as...
oh sheet.

Maybe in the BTS Bopper Boy. I'd like to see some Canuck Leaders! How about an Islands game or Continents 1pp, CTON or Ironman.

Perhaps we don't mirror the CCC. How about a Nation's Cup Season instead? Perhaps meats can come weekly, and it all comes to one commmon goal-get to the playoffs. Crown a champion-the team that's consistently been the best.
We could be in the lobby analysing what each team needs to do (USA needs to beat UK to get in, or Germany could clinch home court advantage, or Australia looks real strong). We don't need to get each Cup done in one weekend. Instead, stretch it out a bit.
Perhaps I could suggest we could have a schedule and ranking system. Perhaps we divide into conferences and the home team plays host. For example on a Saturday, a schedule could look like this:
USA @ Australia UK @ Canada et cetra
Perhaps the type of game is also determined by the home team. For those in same division, you have two games, one is home one game and the other the next time. The best teams in each division would advance to "playoffs". And then the champions of each division, and the NC Champion could be crowned.
Or perhaps a best of three, you play 2 out of 3, one team starts home first, then the other home next. If a tie happens, they play on neutral territory or something. Perhaps you could post schedules and team have until a certain date to get certain number of players. This could also have clans with more players-they cycle through players (Players 1,2,3 play one day, then 4,5 and 6 the next). Those of us on odd work schedules can come to play when we are available.
This would also encourage better participation, knowing that each weekend counts towards one goal. This way, we all don't have to cramb each weekend, we can enjoy the game.
If there is a large supply of players, perhaps split teams into East/West or something. This is such a good idea i hope this works. I am willing to donate time to help set this up if your interested. Contact me email at mkenseth@sbcglobal.net.
Maybe my team can go undefeated in the 2007 Nation's Cup Season (probably not) and claim the ultimate goal-the Nation's Cup.
Perhaps if you want to throw in a special tournament, you throw those in too, like an All-Star event.

I also believe in any All Star event, perhaps we could have a divison vs. division battle. Each team votes in it's top players, and those players combine to battle the other division. As a way of being able to play with a different team. I really think that a season, as opposed to a simple weekend could create anticipation. Perhaps we could be looking forward to big matchups and keeping hope that we will be around for the playoffs. (and add a civilization ESPN )

I am sorry, but I am unhappy with the events. In one sentence- too much teamers. I count 14 Events, 13 are teamers or duels. 2v2v2v2 3v3 3v3 2v2 1v1 5v5 3v3 CTON 2v2 3v3 3v3 2v2 2v2v2v2 I mean, It’s a “Nations Cup”, so you as organizers had the chance to organize more games like the ironman on CCC or the CTON Event. I see it just more interesting playing in a CTON or Ironman like Game next to 7 other Nations in one game. This is Civ becoming almost real with players in a game really coming from those countries you just play in the game. You could even open your horizon for once and includeone game which is played with full game options, including trading(no tech trading), open boarders and diplomacy. Doesnt has to be, but just to say that only teamers is not so hot for all players around the globe. I am disappointed from the mono-type System of this NC. This tournament should be called "Nations Teamer Cup".

Well these national teams are just that....teams. I'm not sure why your surprised that most of the games are team games, that seems logical to me. On top of that we are trying to use formats NOT used in the CCC, no one wants this to be a CCC clone. We do have to moderate our choices to ones that aren't too far "off the wall". If we were to include a ffa style game with diplomacy we would have to include a "1 ally" rule or something similar or the game would be too open to exploits. And all this has to be fit into a single weekend. Please make specific suggestions and we will look at them, but they will be taken in light of what I have said above.

CS It doesn't really need an FFA with full diplomatic options, but there is a big leak of Individual player events in this NC. Change it if possible in 3 Individual events. 1 CTON you have already, then I would include another 2 Events like this. I dont want to suggest exact settings, but make it possible to have more individual player events. Something like Ironman would also fit great in this tournament, even that it would mirror a CCC Event, but I think its matching really good with the theme of a Nation-based tournament and not to mention that individual player events will make it easyer for small teams to participate NC.

Just a suggestion, why only 100 turns for the event n°8? In ancient with elim 2 cities and only 100 turns, it's not easy to win and kill one or two players! ;D
Maybe we should set it like that: elim 2 cities 130 turns or elim 1 city 110 turns
