This is for my good pal sidhe. Whenever you feel like going on a wild rant about city razing just come here and go crazy. Other people would like their threads to stay on topic. I think the only option that makes sense is for a person to have the choice. A player being able to weigh the factors and make a decision in a strategy game. I guess thats a strange concept to the developers. I just don't get it. Fred plz try an explain that one to me. I take some shots at CIV sometimes but would like to just add at this time that I do enjoy the game. If I didn't enjoy the game very much these post would not be here. I wouldn't care enough to write them. OK, I yield the floor to sidhe.

Hey I'm just saying why take a game that is a buildfest with the patch anyway unless you play 180 turns, and then make it so military conquest is only a possible startegy towards the end or you lose on points to everyone else? Doesn't make sense to me? Personally a waste of my time to watch someone who had the best land win, not through any real skill just cause he had the best land to fire out as many workers and settler and wonders as humanly possible: zzzzzzzzz. And it was on topic in the last thread you just didn't understand my point is all.

Ah now it becomes clear, well done on winning that by the way tommy. I'm not sure why no one attacked you throughout the entire game? But that's cton I supose? Or maybe you just built a load of wonders and had a huge army as well

Hey sidhe I will tell you why no one attack him in the ironman it may have something to do with the saying in the game and I quote "Dont take a knife to a gun fight"

Actually I meant early on when he obviously didn't have a superior technology, later on it would have been pointless; I'm not sure why people see players point rushing like that and sit there and let them over expand and pop out wonders, Had I of had an early resource and of been anywhere near him I would of built the biggest stack on Knights on Gods Earth backed up with some other units; and killed him but then I was stuck in some desert miserably eeking out my score so I got my just desserts/deserts. I think India is too much of a good thing in this scenario anyway. You can attribute some of tommy's succes to having chose India IMO, but that's a whole other issue.

Leave it to sidhe. I make a thread just for you to talk about the benifits of no city razing and you get off topic.

well necromonius this is my thread I make the rules Seriously though if you visited the old c3c you'll notice that few if any threads ever stayed on topic they all meandered like a big meandering thing. Civ players are a fickle bunch We all know no city raising is the skilled players choice the other one is just for the lazy builder Vote no city raising your ladder demands it!! There how's that on topic enough for you?

I went to the circus today. I saw lots of clowns and magic tricks. The trapeze artist took my breath away and the tiger made me nervous. It sure was interesting.
Then I went home and played CIV. I would have beat Tommy, Fred and all those other lazy noob builders if I just have bronze, horses and ivory in my capital. I am the best and you all will find that out after get a triple resource in my capital 20 times in a row.
Thank you. Thank you. I know, an uncanny impression of sidhe.

hehe, but au contraire mon capitan you are missing the point; I am merely taking up a counterpoint(playin devils advocate) and showing that given resources next to any other civ you will die too: might be me might be someone else ,but you wil, idea is to show people how to kill the incorrigable builder, not that I will do it, but that anyone can; the game is biased towards builder skilless tactics, whether you see that or not is your look out the only thing I will say is, wait for the future of CIV to develop, don't judge me: just you wait and see. Only point I wanted to make is watch the skies and learn ;D

I get it. You're having fun. I'm having fun.
I have never disagreeded about city razing, merely argue there should be a choice. Surely out of all the many cities you have captured, not all were beneficial to keep.
If your neighbor has resource in cap and you having nothing close, yes, thats trouble.
If it is bothersome that I pinpoint you, say the word and I will discontinue.
If I have to watch the skies in an ancient game against you something is amiss.

I Just thought of another option. The captured city could be converted into a settler to be settled in a more beneficial location if desired

Since at the momment you cannot vote to "keep" or Raze"........I would have to say keep it. Turn city raze off. Last night I took three towns, killing one civ and almost killing another. All three cities were raze so I ha nothing to show for it

So it is the "Always War" setting that defines whether or not you have the choice ?
