About putting your city on iron....
[19:58] <xma-awake> now that was harsh [19:58] <xma-awake> take one enemy war [19:59] <xma-awake> put him on a hill next to your cap [19:59] <xma-awake> have war and archer, enemy war has already moved [19:59] <xma-awake> got a war built next turn [19:59] <xma-awake> so i felt safe to go warrior then archer on him [19:59] <Mark_West> makes sense to me [20:00] <xma-awake> first thing war loses, ok [20:00] <xma-awake> then archer loses... [20:00] <xma-awake> really not fun [20:00] <xma-awake> like 5 percent chances [20:00] <xma-awake> but then [20:00] <xma-awake> i say, "oh fine", will get him with next war anyway, he has 1/10 hp [20:00] <xma-awake> then on that beginning of turn, we discover iron [20:00] <xma-awake> and I got iron right under my cap ! [20:01] <xma-awake> so the war in queue gets auto-upgraded to spear [20:01] <xma-awake> which IS NOT finished that turn of course (more hammers for spear) [20:01] <xma-awake> and I watch him walk into my cap with his barely-alive war, something like 20 turns into the game....
Now that's bad luck....

Could this person have sent a saved game to his other computer and continuously ended turns in sp until he saw iron & horses.... within 5 turns of your mp game? Or reloaded the same map with a future start? etc. IMO, map-looking was rampant in C3C's hay-day over a year ago. Some people cheat to win... To me that's not a real win. I like overcoming handicaps and adversity to pull off a win, it makes me crazy!! The best cheaters may take months to catch... or maybe you'll never catch 'em, who knows. Maybe I'm naive, but I give everyone the benefit of the doubt. If they want to win that badly, let them.... Winning isnt as important as having a good game -- you know, the kind of game you talk about weeks later or refer back to a year ago. Ahh good times. ;D

IMO if you cheat to win you lose. a) you're a loser probably cheat in all the games you play on line in fact you probably never completed any other sp games(other than civ) let alone mp either without getting hold of cheats. b)you couldn't win otherwise which is probably why your cheating c)get a clue then you wont need to cheat d)get off the ladder and go cheat somewhere else please e)pathetic really Of course I'm a colossal cheater myself just ask game theory hehe one warrior beats archer and warrior, I seen that alot not quite the same but I had 1 que cha on hill unfortified beat 1 archer 1 warrior and then one archer. Odds weren't right and I almost lost my cap. It happens. I've played teamers where 4 of us have had such appalling rng that it actually became the major contributory factor to our loss. Some bizarre rng in games sometimes but that's pseudo randomness of computers they're aren't random. 3 vs 3.3 then 1 vs 2.1 then 3 vs 1.9. then he attacked something like .8 vs 3 rush moved archer into city, probably somit like that wasn't watching and finally died. Odds aren't anywhere near as ludicrous but kinda annoying when that sort of rng is happening for most of the game. I was an idiot anyway leaving my cap undefended albeit having reinforcement to move in, such a lottery who moves first, should never leave win/lose up to chance. But then he got killed later by someone else after I'd taken one of his cities. Justice ;D ;D People hate Inca almost as much as they hate the romans, oddly the weakness of Inca is there UU, if you choke someone and fail - and you inevitably will with anyone unless there really close with dire land - you then have someone gunning for you the whole game. And if you choked someone else too, it's Sionara dude. Just thought of something too, why does almost everyone with inca try to choke, it's not written in stone it doesnt say you have too, but nearly everyone always does, you ever thought of daggering instead, much more effective than the choke with Inca?
