I don't play future era much - but surely pangea is not a fair map to put teams onto? Some teams alwas get a better 'potential' land grab. As far as I know the resorces are not distributed evenly either - or does the 'balanced' resources actually work?

IMO future should be played on continents.
It was the way they were played on Civ 3 future teamers and those are a ton of fun. Not everyone had resourses in that but you had to find interesting ways to win. Although with no regicide it can't be exactly the same but it can be close. I miss the game of hide and seek you play with the King unit. I do think 2 city elim is a little tight for future, when most decent players will have at least 4 cities if they are front and maybe 8+ if they are in the middle. Space Race should be on I think. A more interesting map then Inland Sea would be more fun. So long as everyone has a costal, everyone can trade resources and mechs are always able to be built so you should be able to live if you don't noob it up.

You could play Mirror 1 Continent per team. I've played some pretty fun non-ladder games on this map.

Well, i can have some pretty fun non-ladder games while having 2-4 times enemy production on any map in Future (just because non-ladder players doesn't know how to build up in Future). That doesn't mean anything. Against a good players, it will be very hard to attack.

Never played this map with Future (never played a lot of maps with Future), as I don't enjoy playing Future very much. And don't be so ladder elitist as to assume that everyone who doesn't play ladder sucks. You'll find good and bad players off the ladder, just as you do on the ladder .

How can you know what non ladder players play ? Don't be so narrow-minded Ellestar, this is ridiculous.

I play non-ladder games occasionally. The ONLY era they play is ancient. Although there was one guy who hosted a few Renassaince Era starts for a week or two. But he seems to have stopped playing.
I think the non-ladder community follow what the ladder community plays. They are just slower to take on to different game types. Ladder players have just started playing future...I doubt any nonladders play future games. At least I haven't seen it yet.

Well, after testing it in CCC, it seems that Mirror - large continents is not the right map for future neither. It's even more defensive than Hub. I think we should change it again. What about Wheel ?
