There is still suprise, lol. Last game, 10 turns from the end, I was 6th of 8 (horrible game, ganged up on, nm) I launched a suprise attack on my neighbor and seized 2 big cities, enough to put me in 3rd overall.
Besides, you can horde great people and use them for techs or something at the last minute as well.

"3 days ago it wasnt a problem at all but just some feature which has to be dealt with there s no reason to defend this worsepatching"
Have to disagree. The great artist move, which admittedly I used on occasion, was cheap. An instant 200 points letting a person with a markedly inferior civ win was annoying. And this also prevents swarm planting of new cities, also highly annoying.
I once won a game because my latest GP was an artist, even though there was only a 10% chance of one. Let me make up a 100 point gap. You shouldn't be able to do that.

Oh and CS, in fact taking someone's city does increase your score. You get the population points instantly, just not the land. I am sure of this, as my last minute attack taking over my neighbors land boosted me up three spots from taking his population.
P.S. Why couldn't they have included an option to raze or keep a city in game? Was really hoping for one this patch, and SO many ways to do it without causing OOS issues.

I can confirm the cost increase on quick. I played 2 MP games on quick last night. Workers and settlers cost more, as do warriors, archers, spearmen, axemen etc. I can't confirm every single unit costing more, but I use those enough to be sure. For instance on turn 2 it takes 10 turns to make a worker instead of 8. And a warrior is now 12 instead of 10 hammers.

I agree that an option to choose should be implemented. There are multiple ways to code this, from giving you a raze option in the city window, to making you decide what you want before attacking, etc.
As it is, I prefer Raze most of the time, simply because against an equal player taking and holding a city is damn near impossible. Your troops are battered and broken after taking the city, then he beats them to hell with reinforcements.

Well, I am currently #5, and I play probably 30 big games a week, 8player Cton and such. So there:)
On another note however, I won't be on much at all for the next two weeks. Finals, sigh.
Oh, and whose idea was putting the Clan tournament right in the middle of Finals Schedule, lol. I know a lot of players are in some form of higher education, college, grad school, law school, etc, and this keeps us from really playing, as its the busiest time of the year for students.
