Downloading the UQC mod. 1. Turn off civ. 2. Do a search for Ultraquickciv and erase all existing files in uqc files *search for vista is just above the start button when start menu is expanded 3. www3.telus.net/public/jpryder/UltraQuickCiv%20BTS%201.0.rar4. Save it in here. *just copy text C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods 5. start Civilization and click advanced load mod and UQC mod will be on list 6. log in to multiplayer as normal. 7. if you cant see a game you know is up repeat procedure. Note: this mod will NOT harm normal play of beyond the sword games. This guide was specialy made for vista but it will work with all other os too!

I have Vista and I was using my own Login which has Admin rights, but I still get this error with WinRAR:
! I see the errors "Cannot create file" and "Cannot create folder" but why?
Any ideas?
Thanks, SPM

There are 2 universal solutions for all of your Vista vs Mod problems:
1. This is really simple. Install the game into a folder outside of the Program Files. You can select the folder for it at the start of the installation.
2. Open the game's installation folder for all access and remove the virtual data that was created because it was protected. This is a little technical:
- go to "C:\Program Files" and right-click on "Firaxis Games", choose "Properties" from the menu, go to "Security" tab, under the list of Group/user names, click "Edit...", select "Users (xxxxx\Users)", check the "Allow" checkbox for "Full control", click "Ok".
- delete the folder "C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Firaxis Games" (where instead of "xxxxx" is your user name; you need to see hidden folders as "AppData" is hidden).

I've never had this problem with Vista and Civ mods, but that maybe because I also have turned off "user access control" which I find one of the very annoying features of Vista.
