Here is your chance to have some input into the next generation of maps for MP games. I'm sure that we all have enough experience after a year+ of playing Civ to know what needs improving/adding to the map repertoire. I can't guarantee that all ideas will make the cut but the best/most popular will get the support first. This of course is all aimed at the next unnamed expansion for Civ4. So basically we will get out of this what ever we put into it. And have no one to blame but our selfs if we let the ball drop. And please feel free to attack pictures to illustrate your ideas if need be, drawing skill is not a requirement, I'm sure we will all understand.

I think we need more genuinely random maps, similar to C3Cs. I mean that yes sometimes it really sucked and all, but now most maps are so predictable, and easily defend-able. Bring back that, and find a way to also add the thrill that was part of C3C as well and more will enjoy the game again. Do away with ridiculous inland sea rubbish and other very predictable maps and many will have more fun.

The thing is with the random maps nooone plays them no more. Everyone is so attached to inland sea and team battle maps that they have forgotten what a pangaea or fractal map looked like!!!

Well we can try and see if we can merge fair resources and food with the randomness of a pangea or fractal, and try and get the best of both worlds.

hi well best map now is inland sea . there is a lots of rivers lots of food lots of hills, gold forest metal etc i wish map where our borders dont touch at all but map to be as pangea. how to create map as that i think to put some obstacles desert or terrain where you cant put city betwen borders.i mean you could put city there but will not grow at all. to create areas for kingdoms and you have to pass desert or ice or jungle or mountains to meet other civ. imagine your scout gave you report roman army is marching tru desert and is about to reach first city it will just make thing more interesting should you send army and fight into desert or build high walls in troy and defend with archers from there. is just thing that when borders are touching enemy army allways double move and they are right into your capitol no time for anything. more terrains as a battlegrounds. and archers need greater role in ancient wars cause they fire arrows from great distance if they are guarded by phalanx that make them invicible even for cavalry. is just how this working now its became boring cause its all about who got bigger stack of catapults. we need to be able to make army formations as spears front archers on the back. stack hit stack and game is over is too simple did you ever met almost equal stack as yours with 10 or more catapults and rest normal units. who you think will win? the guy who first hit will win. need to bring army formations need better battlegrounds more complicated terrains with different def bonuses or even attacking bonuses if you attack from hill army on grassland you have advantage there should be 25 % att bonus. could they make weater change in civ5 ? maybe to see rain sometimes or snow falling
