As we all know we have cton,semi-cton,teamer & duel.
I have this idea for a new game called Ladder xp, named after me ;D
Here are the rules please tell me what you think.
#1- One Civ per player picking goes by rank. #2- No tech trading #3- Raging barbarians *3 AI's on Random and agressive AI* maybe?? #4- Timer blazing or fast? #5- 2 city elimination #5- same time limit as usuall #6- Report the person who killed your cities leading to your death example~ if you lost both cities to different people you must report to them both. #7- If AI or Barbarians kill your last city you must report to all. #8- Always war #9- You may only get reports if you do actual killing of civilizations.
any changes or suggestions would be nice, don't be chiken tell me your thoughts.

no offence but I dont think many ppl will like the pick civ by rank bit at least
what if you kill the AI who reports that ?

The AI civ will be treated as a Barbarian and when you kill barbz all it does is give you exp, and all that money you get from killing AI is a reward enough. For me AI civs die pretty easy, so easy money.(up to host to include AI civs) And in teamer games high rank choose the first pick, so I think many would agree with me on the highest rank chooses civ first rule. btw are you trying to be mean to me Bantams This game would be the opposite of a cton. Were in cton you report the highest score and all if you die. I propose a game much like a regular game we played as nonladders. Except with a ladder twist.

Two questions:
So in this type of game you would only get reports if you capture a city from an opponent?
What happens if you survive to the end of the game, without losing a city, but without capturing a city?
Sounds like it could be an interesting alternative to the builder friendly ctons we have now ...

Yes only way you can get a report would be to actually kill someone. The whole point of playing is to kill someone.
That way there's a choice of ladder games.
1)Point race 2)Kill race 3)Teamer win
If the time runs out and everyone is still alive then the game is a draw.
Might I add the famouse cton attack of the last turn timer attack would be alive and very well put to use.
This way it incourages war. If your not trying to castle mod and bring up score, I know for a fact there will be huge stacks attacking defended cities. There would be major wars going on. Low power on the graph might get attacked as so would high power on graph cause we all know your high power is trying to take out someone for the report. it would be a race to kill someone for the report.

iv always tohught that you should only report to the people who actually killed one of your cities if you died, and no-one else. if nothing else, it would sway people away from sitting in the middle of inland sea teamers and 'building up'. they could attempt more boat attacks and defend their coastals better.

I wonder why 95% off all games are 2 city elim. and at the same time, people talk about the problem with citybuilders.
I you changed to 1 city elim. I think the game would change fast towards the Military build win.
This goes for CTON, i think teamer is ok as it is.

Haha, players outside of ladder complain about ladder players doing nothing but making war and killing. This is especially prevelant in teamers but is still true in regular ctons. I can't believe the bloodlust of some of you people. Wantiing more war. Go play with lestat if you want war. All he really does is build units anyway.

i find nothing more satisfying than destroying something that someone has spent time creating.
may i suggest flattening sand castles next time your at the beach. it has the same feeling of " my army's bigger than your army "
ps. watch out for angry dads

On a totally philosophical note: I don't know if "i find nothing more satisfying than destroying something that someone has spent time creating." was meant to be sarcastic, but that's close to the truth.
One of the only things I enjoy more than creating something wonderful is destroying something of an adversary's (a designed enemy in a game, if the game's any good, or someone in real life who deserves as much) and inflicting as much pain and suffering upon them as I can.
But that's not at all the feeling I get with war in Civ4. It just feels like a big game of chess. Do you really think people get that vibe from fighting a war here?
