This thread is to organize and administrate a PitBoss game. This is the 2nd PitBoss Game run by WarningU2.
The original 1st game thread is: 1st Game.
When that game concluded several people expressed interest in a new game. Note a separate story or history thread will also be opened.
These are the people who have expressed interest already:
If anyone else is interested please reply in this thread. Note: You must be a member of the ladder to play.
Each player may request up to 3 civilizations and leaders. 1st choice, 2nd choice, and last choice. Whether you obtain your 1st choice is determined by who responds here first.
I will start the game as soon as we have a min. of 8 players and a max of 12. When the game is ready to start I'll be sending out the welcome e-mails 48 hrs prior to the start time.
Rules and Game Settings Below:
Thanks for everyones interest in this game. I'm happy to present WarningU2's Second PITBOSS game.
This game will be played in Civilization IV: Warlords (version v2.08). This game will be an individual match but players may (once they meet) conduct diplomacy unrestricted including teaming up if they so desire. Reporting is required on an individual basis. War is allowed from the start. If you get a bad start and are eliminated ... sucks to be you.
Please password protect the civilization the first time you sign in. I have not chosen to select a password protected game. This game will not be played in the lobby. It will only be available by Direct IP. Please also be sure to set your email address in "Your Details" in the game so you will receive game reminders of your turn.
We'll be using civstats.com when it is avaialble again, to track our game. It is highly recommended that you watch our game page (which will be posted here) often.
Commitments
By stating your intention to play you commit to the following:
* You agree to contact me (through e-mail, private message, a third party or other means) as soon as possible if you encounter technical difficulties or other circumstances that prevent you from fulfilling these commitments.
* You agree to act in a courteous manner toward all other players at all times in your "out-of-game" communication.
* You agree to inform me when you are going to be unavailable for a period of greater than 72 hours.
* You agree to try to play your turn every 24 hours. If you do not play your turn for up to 72 hours then you must notify me in an e-mail.
* You agree to refrain from "in-game" communication with another player until making contact with that player's civilization. "In-game" communication refers to sharing information about your civilization or other players' civilizations, making deals, proposing alliances, etc..
* You agree to play the game to completion unless:
(1) personal or technical circumstances render it impossible for you to do so. This means that you agree to play to the "bitter end," even if you anticipate being eliminated from the game. This is no small commitment. Rest assured that the game will finish.
(2) ALL players in the game decide to concede to another who is dominating the game and their victory is overwhelming.
* You agree to report games (ladder game) per the bench marks laid out below:
2000BC, 500BC, 500AD, 1000AD, 1500AD, 1800AD, 1900AD, 1950AD, 2000AD, 2050AD.
* If you withdraw from the game players must report each of the remaining BMs to all players. If a sub is found then the required number of reports are reduced by half.
* Players who sub for another player are not required to report for two BMs, however if their position improves they are required to report from there-on.
* Civilizations that are not destroyed and no human player will substitute will be played by an AI.
* Players agree to report major game miletones in a story thread, especially those turns that result in combat.
Game Settings:
A comment on game settings: I am trying a custom continents balanced game with each civ to one continent. This means the early stages of this game will be slow but each player should have a reasonable start to prepare for war that will erupt as soon as ocean travel is possible. I've decided to turn off barbs - they are just annoying and I would like to try a Prince difficulty on an epic timer because I think it will make it more historically accurate. This is not intended to be a quick war fest game. It will last a long time. I would like to get together and have real time play marathons but that is not a requirement to join. Its a nice to have if we can swing it. Please don't join if you can't commit to play for a long time.
