Sorry to be one of those annoying people who scupper everyones plans but for next month or so I'm pretty much all booked up with weddings, stag nights, leaving parties and music festivals, whereas I can find a spare five minutes to play a turn, anymore than that is going to be impossible for me to guarantee.
Should the spare civs be put to AI until taken?? That way they will actually do something and don't just run down the turn clock.

Yes we could certainly arrange a "regular MP" night, were we could speed up the start, but only once the other civs are taken. CS Well if you can get everyone together good luck. It's good to speed up the start especially like this. From past experience though, I have found these meeting nights to be annoyingly frustrating to try and organise. Someone (sometimes me...I go away a lot!) is always busy.

yeah I realize organizing such things is difficult, particulary with this many.
Glad to see you're in testoftime. Harewood said he didn't want to start behind, but I cajoled him...we'll see. Arvcran sounded like we was gonna join so I sent him the info to do so.

As a middle ground solution to trying to have everyone log in to play a mini-epic session all at once...we could try to make an effort to, say, try to play three turns a day on the weekends, or something like that? Just brainstorming. I guess that won't work till the other civs get picked up or we turn them into AI.

hey-hey, nice to have you aboard, Harewood, thanks for reconsidering.
At what point do we make the empty civs AIs? We don't want them to fall too far behind. And then do we need any AI-specific rules? I guess since big is not necessarily better in civ4, they can't be exploited too much. I've been playing an SP game with the same settings, and my nearest neighbors were pretty far--huge is big!

Well I'll give it to the end of the week and then turn them into AI, there is no TT so we can't abuse them too much, other than steam rolling over them for territory CS

If the partial turn was not reloaded and the entire turn is being replayed how can there be only 1 hour, 38 minutes left?

The save was one I saved yesterday evening, perhaps some players played after the save, but most did before, anyway it should not be a large delay, I generally make a save twice per day, once close to the start of the turn and one close to the end.

CS Why not just use the most recent recoverysave? That way only one person has to re-do their turn.

Yes I could have done that i guess, I didn't realize that each player creates a recovery save Hindsight is 20/20. CS
