I'm looking forward to getting the game (next few days?) and getting involved in a pitboss with it. Anyone else? Cheers,
Onan

Cool, will do. As far as I know, the release date in the US is the 23rd.... Ah and I would want someone else who's experienced to host it, preferably, especially if it means leaving your machine up and running and connected 24-7. Haven't played warlords yet either, so I'll be a bit of a noob.

I'll play. I would even host it if somebody can tell me how to do that and keep my WL pitboss host/server going.

Wow, nice to see so much interest from so many old hands. I called my local dealer (pun intended) last night and was told the game is on the shelves here on the 24th.
Whiplash, I'd be happy for you or CS or anyone else with experience and/or a desire and ability to host to do so.
Finally, and this may whittle down the interested parties: I would want the general game parameters to be quite open. As in, complete free for all, no real attempt at 'fairness'. People can ally, people can be militaristic or pursue peaceful strategies as they choose. People can violate agreements as their sense of honor will permit. The sky's the limit. In short, I play the game more as a story that unfolds than as a chess match where everyone has a theoretically equal chance of winning. Something more like history. /soapbox

I could probably host a pitboss app if no one else can, and other than the occasional reboot my machine is always on.

Let me know if you need one more and when you are starting by emailing warningu2 at cogeco dot ca

Sounds good, CS, and welcome, WU2.
Just to confirm: BTS does not require WL, does it?

Hang on, WU2. Are you saying that in order to play the BtS expansion, you must have the WL expansion? That would suck.

Hang on, WU2. Are you saying that in order to play the BtS expansion, you must have the WL expansion? That would suck. No, BTS installs a version of WL(without the scenarios) but BTS in no way needs WL's to function, it does of course need Civ4. CS
