Ok I've got a little more clarification on ports, CIV(while playing) only uses port 2056(which is configurable in the ini). But the lobby is "powered by Gamespy" so GS uses a few more ports to take care of all the functions in the lobby, it's basically a highly modified IRC system. www.gamespyarcade.com/support/firewalls.shtmlIf you are behind a firewall/proxy and are able to change its settings, Arcade needs the following TCP ports open in order to function: 6667 (IRC) 3783 (Voice Chat Port) 27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat) 28900 (Master Server List Request) 29900 (GP Connection Manager) 29901 (GP Search Manager) 13139 (Custom UDP Pings) 6515 (Dplay UDP) 6500 (Query Port) The only one I'm still waiting for clarification on is the Voice chat port, we don't have voice chat in the lobby but that doesn't mean GS isn't wanting to open it. How do you configure it in the ini, there's no reference I can see to port forwarding?

In one of my many failed attempts to join an MP game Cobra suggested I change the port to 2057. I did this in the _config.ini. Same result! Six players in the game. I can't connect after launch.
Is this POS really "powered by gamespy"?

Whip can you enable logging in your ini, there's two places to change to a "1", Randlog =1 and enable logging =1, or close to them(I'm at work). After this please send me your logs(network and/or MP) and I'll have the dev's look at them. Also get the host of the game you are trying to join to do the same, this will give us a comparision. As to being "powered by GS" take a look at my article on GS NAT to understand how Firaxis has tried to use GS NAT system to get around all the firewall/router problems that C3C had.

I'd call it "Pooped-on by Gayspy"

So even the ones that say "udp" in the description are considered tcp?

Got 2 prople (both ladder and none off them me) They can usualy play games with most people, and others can join games even if they are allready there.
BUT.: They can never connect to each other, NEVER ! they are both using at standart windows firewall, and they have both exception on warlords.exe, and they have both opened all relevant ports.
Ever heard if anything similar to this ? Any suggestions ?

Yes sure happens all the time tamijo seems some PPL just aint made for each other
1:make sure they both have forwarded port 2056
2:IF either of them have norton installed they will need to forward port 2056 there too
3:with windows XP firewall it also help to forward allow port 2056 in there also
4: if all above is already done tell them to try connecting through another router if possible maybe their routers dont talk to each other nicely ;D

Ports to be opened TCP and UDP (incoming and outgoing)
2033 2056
Further to this the following ports are required if playing through the Gamespy server:
6667 (IRC) 3783 (Voice Chat Port) 27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat) 28900 (Master Server List Request) 29900 (GP Connection Manager) 29901 (GP Search Manager) 13139 (Custom UDP Pings) 6515 (Dplay UDP) 6500 (Query Port)
Hmmm seems 2033 is a new addition i got this from take 2 today!
