The whole point of CR is that it is a console/handheld version of Civ, no it's not Civ5 either, although they could use the pretty graphics from CR in a PC version of Civ5...which I don't expect of at least a couple more years. Civilization Revolution received pretty good press at E3. They basically said it's not "Civ-Lite," it's a full-fledged Civ game. The graphics are more cartoonish than what we've got in Civ4 (a la super sexy Hatsepshut pic), but the gameplay is supposedly solid. They said a typical game will run about 3 hours.

I'm not sure about that Mookie, this article here at IGN, based on it's E3 preview basically states that its a Civ light for consoles..... ps3.ign.com/articles/803/803562p1.htmlThey have removed many of the "negative items" from Civ and added cartoonish graphics. "While some Civ die-hards may have a hard time accepting the changes, the tighter focus of the game still manages to package the basic elements of the franchise in a way that will definitely make the game more accessible to a larger console audience." IMHO that says Civ light right there, you have smaller maps, fewer cities, a maximum of 4 player MP, only 16 civs, etc. I'm sure that as a console version of a TBS game that it'll be a success, but if you really wanting the full civ expereince, you'll find CR a little lacking. I for one won't be buying CR(or the PS3, Xbox. WII to go with it) but I wish CR success in it's role, if Firaxis makes money from CR that just means more civ in the future for everyone. But until Civ5 needs MP testers I'll be right here playing the latest PC version of the game. CS

Of course perhaps CR will be good for us PC gamers as well, after the console gamers finish all there is to do in CR they may want to try the full version of the game on the PC CS

Not to mention that xbox gamers can't play with PS3 gamers that can't play with Wii gamers etc. I'm sure it will do well, people that think internet checkers is strategy will flock to it CS

I hate bright lights. HDR bloom is just noob.

I loved Tropico, except for the island generator as that meant my Palace was always on some damn slope and couldn't have a grand plaze in front of it. An undo button also would have been good and less insanely destructive hurricanes!

Funny that they close their segment on MP with this statement, completely dismissing Civ3 and Civ4 as online games. That's sensational!

I agree it's ugly, the screenshots alone are enough to make me not even consider buying it.
