Did you happen to look at the year ozzy? It was 1600 AD. There are only so many turns in a game. Where would you have been in civ2 by turn 150? Again tring to comapre Civ2 to CIV4, incase you didn't notice, they are 2 diff games. They do not work the same. You will most likely not find a single stratagy that will work every single time, but then again you had a single stratagy that worked every single time in Civ2, so where would the need to think come in? You say that this is just a build and defend game, but you tried that didn't you, and still lost. You can not pick a single strategy at the very begining of the game and expect it to carry you to glory. You will have to pick a strategy to start, yes, but you will have to do that thinking you mentioned to alter that strategy to deal with the land and what the other player chooses to do. In all posts that I have read when you have lost, it seems that you failed to react fast enough to counter your enemy. So I would say in conclusion that your losing is not the games fault, but your own for not having studied the game enough to understand how it really works. DTA

I had lots of different strategies in civ2, some of them custom tailored to map shape and terrain. You obviously didn't play civ2 so don't bother trying to say what I did in it. Lose? I lost to points and time running out. Is that what this game comes down to now? You play 2 hours doing basically nothing and then at the very end you do little tricks to get the points up? Nice, really great work here. You think I'm the only one that sees this? You really think MP is going to survive if this thing isn't drastically changed? You guys tried to bring in the RTS crowd and I can say right now not one RTS player is going to play this game. Now not only have you lost the RTS crowd but you have alienated the TBS crowd and dumbed the game down into a mindless bog.
