it seems almost impossible to host this thing without some kind of website. It is, in fact, quite simple to run a tournament without a website. I could run the entire tournament from a single thread, no problem at all. I want it to be done right. If you really want it done right, you should let an experienced TD run the event. You just donate the prize money and let me worry about how the event is run. Generally, the person that donates a chunk of money as prize money is considered a promoter. The promoter decides what type of event it will be and when it will be held, but the event is run by the tournament directors. This allows a promoter to participate in his/her own event without any conflict of interest.
