I got the chance to play a 3v3v3v3 with some top ranked players. It wasn't an official clan game but kinda felt like one, the teams were like this: Tommynt Slaughter Civerdan vs Islandia Mark_weston lporiginalg vs ICBM Willburn DeviousDevil vs Everybodiesdarling staxks longhorn Here's the final power and score charts (these ones are my favorites) EBD took one of my cities early by rushing me with riflemen but Mark staged a cunning amphibious assault that allowed us to take two of his cities eliminating him from the game and giving us extra room to expand. Tommy dominated the score pretty much the whole game as you can see, keeping his team in the lead. But his team was sandwiched in between the two teams that still had 3 civs and we eventually were able to overrun slaughter with artillery and wipe him out with another one of Mark's boat attacks. Tommy's team was brutally outnumbered after that and it didn't take long for the whole gang to get wiped out. Things were looking good for my team, although we were kind of wondering what ICBM was doing with so many transports. We found out when the marines came and wiped out Islandia, giving the win to ICBM, Willburn and the DeviousDevil, the only team to have all players alive at the end.

Lporiginal - where did you go those last turns?
A great game, though in some regards frustrating.
On my team my job as I saw it and as my team came to see it was science and later on to scout out the enemy and try so opportunist invasions - the first expedition spotting most coastal cities, harassed Lporiginal expansion (till Longhorn killed them - silly boy) and then being 1 square from taking out a city of Islandia. After that came after two things before my next expedition:
1. The first event was that Tommy invaded my team mate Willburn destroying one city. But for ICBM rushing forces in, my call to Willburn for Nationhood and to burn population for soldiers and my 4 marines Tommy would have taken Willburn out. Instead what Tommy did was to use his army to provoke us to secure his destruction whilst not having helped Slaughter.
The result? Well Slaughter was defeated by Islandia and Co and my team destroyed on of Tommys cities before he and Civer Dan took their ball home and quit.
2. My failed assault on Staxx...Staxx whose army was always bigger than mine had been harrassed alot by my forces, however when I came in to try for a kill (to get some oil which I only got VERY late on in the game) my forces messed up leaving alot of dead marines.
After the A.I Tommy left was destroyed the race was between team Islandia and our team - Longhorn and Staxx being out of it and playing very defensively.
My forces did the scouting and threatening of landings once more not doubt keeping Mark on his toes and eventually looked in again on Islandia. All this time my allies Willburn and ICBM had been building up - unlike me not burning units in constant action. We devised a plan and excuted it taking the island city of Gloucester recognised to be isolated (especially as I had killed some transports there).
After that our team was all out on Islandia threatening his whole coastline. In the end ICBM landed near Hastings a stack that sat there, Willburn near London cutting communications. Later came a land offensive on Islandia's frontier by mainly Willburn and a small contingent of my tanks (gifted to me by Willburn for defense Vs Staxx which I send back the other way Staxx being passive).
The threats to so many places and the cutting of communications to London allowed ICBM and I to unite our fleets with all their troops and go for London. ICBM did the job so my units were not needed and promptly headed for Mark.
Now things got REALLY INTERESTING as Longhorn and Staxx had developed Manhattans and were launching nukes pointlessly at Lporiginal and not following up with offensive units as far as I could tell.
As my team were in full buy our tech was behind that of Mark and Lp and they nuked up soon. The result was Staxx land and very soon Russia (my land) turned orange with fallout.
In this time Mark managed to slip past my defenses and destroy 1 city on the coast (he'd have done more if my destroyers hadn't picked off another trannie) after preparatory nuke attack.
So into the close and I landed and destroyed one of Marks cities with Marines so he was down to one AND if ICBM had landed his forces where I had told him to, he'd have taken out Mark from the game (2 city elim).
Regardless we had done enough a win, though it felt odd to win when all my cities had been nuked by Mark and also by Longhorn (WTF?!).
Great game, though long, long, long!

Heh, unfortunately that game took a lot longer than expected and I had to leave with twenty some odd turns left. I had bomb shelters in every city and just qued non-stop marines in all cities. Maybe I could've made the difference if I had actually been there to attack but oh well at least my civ survived with me being afk and getting nuked! lol

biggest bs ever - d have forgotten allready but then i saw this - our team was 1. 2nd and 3rd in everything and still lost
- the reason:
with these demo governments u can get pretty easy a unit per turn or at least every 2 turn very easy nm how bad or good u play -
that means if u play 3 vs 6 other teams ll have just double amount of units
not that hard to kill with double units espacilly with these imo bugged marines who are far too strong espacially on a water dominated map like ring
uh ya we could have nuked easly others if having only 1 uran ... but non for all 3
@dd I pulled 10 bombers and 15 tanks to slaugh after he called - that more then not helping imo

3 vs 6 lol in terms of units.
I doubt a single unit from lporiginal fought your team and only 4 units of mine. Your team had spammed out plenty of units so you'd have more than the 4 (at most) civs that were up against you in reality. I don't know all that was going on in your lands, but obviously those units weren't used to best advantage for all your 'dominance'.

I think this game shows that industrial is more about tactical gameplay than just a builders game. Tommy and the team was way ahead in score but we decided to go for cash (0% researcH) and with kremlin wonder we where buying tanks / marinees in every city every other turn. Anyways i had a blast in this game and hope we can get together another one like this. I dont mind loosing either

My artillery made a nice distraction on slaughter while mark got his boats prepped to take the back city.

But as will says, there's something called tactics. Please remember slaughter wasn't killed by an overwhelming land assault but by a clever amphibious assault on an underprotected city. In fact it seems to me that Islandia was under heavy fire from you guys at the time and if our boat attack had failed the game would've gone a lot different.
