Not *just* multiple paths, it apparently uses AND/OR gates, so you could apparently skip many tech's but still end up at the same level as others....interesting.

it seems a lot more balanced for different styles of play...i like the more differsified tech tree in areas of ag i am sure there are lots of benefits and disadvantages to tech path the nice thing is u can get advanced in a certain area then go back and pick up some intricate pieces but also avoid a lot of useless tech for your play style

Yes and no, the game(atleast in SP) will tell you that you have entered a "era" but it's not like C3C were you have to get 95% of the tech's to get into a era, and there's no free tech assiciated with the era's. It's just a line inthe sand really.

Still looks like 2 main branches where it may be(somewhat) possible to get one good buddy and can run through and trade where a 3rd would be helpful for those 3 fork problems. ;p
must...get....to...paper tech.. LMAO
