1 - double click on city; on the bottom in the center, click on the new item/icon you want to build (which will put it in the build queue on the lower left); on the lower left menu/build queue - click on the item you want to NOT build leaving your new item as "being built"
2 - I don't know what monitor or graphics card you have, mine is different (best for me is "medium" graphics in advanced/game options screen).
3 - a: use numeric key-pad b: to stop your old habit and elimiate the warrior "moonwalk" - get a loan from the local bank so you can afford to pay attention!
(awe common' sidhe, you ASKED for that one, lol)

Sidhe, if you don't want to go all the way into the city screen, you can click on the city label once (where city name is, and population number too, depending on your settings), the bar beneath the city. This will bring up the build menu at the bottom of the screen, and you can select your builds there, without going all the way in. To exit you simply click back on the map somewhere, I believe.

You can click on the minimap. Blah, not very elegant; but that works.

Thanks Guys. Pay attention, maybe I'll take heed it's cheaper.
Is there a key to move all automoves immediately like in c3c.
And where does the game store autosaves? Can't see them in single player folder?

I think there's an 'auto' folder, possibly within the 'single' folder.

Ive been thinking but have not had time to test.
Caravels seem to be able to go into others territory without declaring war??
Can they drop off units next to a capital with 1 turn warning of war?

Also fortification..
How long does it take to get higher increments of fortification, what is the increment, and what is the max bonus for fortification? Is it shown by putting cursor over unit?

Yes Caravels can enter enemy territory without war, but they are boats that can only carry missionaries and spys and scouts and explorers, so not a military threat.
Fortified units get 5% per turn upto a max of 25% after 5 turns.

Is there any way to abandon a city? I realize u can raze the city after capturing it. But don't see anyway to abandon it later if u decide its untenable or don't like the cities position. Is abandoning a city not an option??

Another thing I'm not sure about is catapults. If u want to bombard city defenses should u promote it for collateral damage or city attack? I've been promoting for collateral damage. Can u confirm if thats correct. If im wrong, then what does collateral damge promotion help with?

Regarding catapults and their promotions: cats really only come into their own for softening city walls/defenses after two promotions: you have to promote them to barrage 1 (collateral damage), and then on the 2nd promotion, go for 'increased bombard accuracy' or something like that. It's the more circular looking promotion icon.
Collateral damage bonuses affect the amount of damage catapults do when they do extra damage to units other than the one they're attacking in a stack (I think this is still 6 units). So ideally when attacking a city, you'll want cats of both types: bombard accuracy promotions to bring down the defenses, then hit the defenders with the barrage catapults to soften them up, then clean up with your other troops to take the city. You will lose some of the barrage catapults, but it's worth the investment, and you'll take cities you wouldn't be able to otherwise.
There's also a key difference here: to cause collateral damage, the catapult is moved onto the enemy like you'd attack with any other unit. To just damage the defenses, you use the target icon option for the catapult to bombard--so it fires but stays in its tile and does not actually engage the enemy.
It's a strange system, hard to see the realism of it, but it seems to work for gameplay.
