NR self report? Does this mean they were filed on and then reported their loss -> ie: non - forced.. Hypathetical situation here based on true events. Game played. Reports made. One player was not reported to, for whatever reason. The player sends out a nonreport... why wouldn't he after all... The match is reported after receipt of the NR. Thie counts as a NR , 1 of 10 10 merits a suspension? Lets say the fellow sent out an email reminding the player first then filed NR a day or so later, a lot of problems would be resolved. How about the ill intentioned player that waits 36 hours , sends no email but files a NR...?? Abuse can run both ways. Send an email if a match was not reported, usually, in my experiences from my forgetfulness to others doing the same that email will solve the problem. hf

I have no idea what exactly i have been accused of yet. Nobody is responding to my email request for review. Nobody is accusing me of anything specifically. The have just boxed me. I dont know who accused me, or of what specifically. All i know is that it involves NR. Whatever that is. I assume it is Non Report.
Does that mean I reported late. I did not report at all. Was it a valid NR. Did the Non Reports I repudiated count here? I asked for a breakdown, and have yet to recieve a reply at all. I see one post by CS.
I will have served my term in another day or two.
Thanks for the promt action.
Even a, your out of luck, be quiet and take your punishment like a man would be better than this.........NOTHING

Even a, your out of luck, be quiet and take your punishment like a man would be better than this.........NOTHING Ape, Moineau has stated in this very thread that he answered your emails, perhaps your spam filter is a little to active. And I believe my post here was clear in explaining the ladder policy and why you recieved an automatic 7 days suspension. If not please review reply #8 in this thread, were I originally posted our Non-report policy that is at the core of your suspension. civ4players.proboards44.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1154374820&page=1As to a "break down" of the NR's that caused this, sorry but we don't keep track of each NR in that level of detail. When an Admin recieves a NR, he/she waits 2-3 days and then checks the Daily Reports, if they see that you reported after the NR was filed and after 24hrs since the match took place, they record that as the next "reminded to report, NR", and they look in the players records, and index the report to the next number. i.e. If I'm going to record a "self reported NR", I look at the list in the player record, and if I see that DTA has already recorded a "Self Reported NR 3 of 10", then that makes my NR 4 of 10 and I enter that. The Admin that records the final 10th NR, resets it to 0 and suspends the player for 7 days. We have not put in place any system to have old Self Reported NR's "expire" due to there age, but I'll discuss that with the Admin team. CS

ROFL, 10 self reported non reports is actually 40-50 imo. You also state you played over 1,000 games. Did you have to report them all or just half of them? Btw, stetson you make an excellent defense lawyer, as you owe me a report right now and I have filed on you several times before. Crypto, sorry, but I think everyone knows that your memory is missing a few connections . Pretty sure you had me confused with someone else - (you know there are a few others with the mojo tag) . Also, I even gave you an extra free report just to appease your ridiculousness.

Don't flatter yourself with the extra report or your memory. All you did was report 3 days late on a ren inland sea game.

Here is my pennies worth about non reporting:
I recently got reported by my own teammate half an hour after the game coz he was so annoyed with me for agreeing to end a game in a draw rather than play it out to a likely defeat.
I tried to appeal to reason to him but he never replied to any email after filing the report. I tried to appeal to reason with the admins but eventually I had a report forced on me. I was not happy as, even though moineau applied the letter of the law, he did not apply the spirit of it.
Since the non reporting penalties have been upgraded a few months ago we are seeing more people boxed. It is probably a good thing on the whole. But I have to agree with some of the comments above about long standing, well respected players being treated like a newer player who seems to have no intention of reporting.
I am not advocating 2 standards but just a more reasonable stance to be taken by the admins based on previous history and length of time some have played with due integrity and honesty.
If I was ape I would be just as annoyed by being boxed for this offense. I was unaware of the 10 self reporting non report rule. I can see the wisdom in it as some seem only to report when they are reminded but to make a rule without a time lapse clause is short sighted in my opinion.
CS says in his last post they will discuss this as admins. Can I suggest they do this promptly. Maybe 6 months would be a reasonable amount of time before wiping the record. Whatever it is please let us know.
Personally I very rarely file non reports. Why make more work for the admins? I write down who I play against and then if they dont report I wait until I see them in the lobby and remind them. Very rarely does this not work. I might email if I dont see the person in the lobby. Sometimes I dont get a due report. C'est la vie. Bigger things to worry about in life than a few missed reports.

Another thing. While we are considering the thought of time lapsing for self reported non reports (srnrs). What about time lapsing for non reports filed on you.
Take me as an example. I think I have 2 forced reports on my file. The 1st for a game I got killed in and then forgot to check who had won. I got forced report because I didnt look at my civ email account for 2 days. If I had seen report I would have made it np.
2nd forced report is the one I mentioned above. I didnt agree with it but it stands. Both forced reports are not for serial non reporting. 1 is an admin oversight on my apart and 2nd, well whatever. Anyway I have a 7 day ban hanging over me if I mess up once more.
I have been on the ladder for over 4 years and have always had a good reputation I think for reporting my games. As I said above I dont waste admin's time by filing non reports either. So what about forced reports coming off your file after a year?
Can an admin respond as noone responded to my previous post.

I try to remember to file non-reports as simply if someone doesn't report they are in my view insulting me, thinking they don't have to report to me promptly and can waste my time having to file a non-report.
I report promptly and expect others to do the same.
The worst sort is those that change their name so when you come to chasing it takes even more effort. Why do I chase? What is the point of a ladder if people don't report, may as well play off ladder then and those who can't report should do so.

ABSOLUTELY! Especially the players that demand the same from you yet refuse to report when it is their turn.

Don't worry Stin, we have read your posts and are discussing the issue. But we are busy right now with the CCC and the new ladder system, but this will get it's due likely after the CCC.

I think it's funny that when you file a non-report, the person only reports to one filing or is only charged with the one filing. In actuallity there are 4-6 other players that don't receive a report as well. Everytime I play noob112 (you know who you are), I have to file non report. He then just reports to me. Meanwhile he has 70% win and tons of non reports just not reported.

Hance why we should switch to the host reporting system, decent host will process the reports and remove this issue finally. This is a simple system which will work. Actually we could even setup a network of Admin Reporters of the trusted host reporters. People who have just finished a game can EMail the results to one of those admins and process the results. I suggest the game name identifies these games so the serial non-reporters can avoid them. Makes sense for people like syggestygge, lestat, corve, chucks, crypto, bulldog etc to on this list from the start and added too when the main admins trust them. Wouldnt want levi added to list and he gets confused over rules and stuff Grim

The new league will use a winner reports for the game system. And hopefully at some point later we will use GreenBerrets ARS software to do this automatically.

Think a bit kurd, a host has to report anyway if he looses. So reporting a match where he wins gives him n immediate streak, rank adjustment so theres an incentive, if he looses he has to report anyway.
Not that complicated, hopefully as CS mentions the GB software will make this simple and hopefully automated, although im keen for it to be semi automated at start as automation can lead to strange stuff, immagine if the software gets in an automated reporting loop!

In a cton the winner reports and same in a 1v1. It should be a good system, it required a 50% of the losing players to confirm but not all the players. And admins only have to get involved if a player disputes the match. CS
