Yes, I think 4 corners would have been more fun. It was just Road Rush 'n Ruin, no other elements of OCC gameplay really mattered in the end. OMG! I see a bright light! Walk into the light! No Bop! Don't go into the light - it's full of muskets and maces! How will 4 corners help? If anything, it will only help the rushers to attack 2v1 without their opponents having any chance of helping each other? I'm thinking Inland maybe. 4 Corners was made for 2v2. As for whether it will mean less 2v1, who cares, it's a friggin teamer, you ought to be 2v1'd.

Zhenon is right, in a teamer you're going to get hit by multiple players, it's a fact of the game type. In bigger events it's 3v1 or even 4v1 ... that's a lot more difficult to stop than a 2v1.

Considering in most 3v3 ccc events the attacker generally attacks 3v1 or 3v1.5, too be honest if you can't stop a 2v1 with one city you are honestly are terrible.

A few thoughts for events next ccc:
1. Game where all players are on deity difficulty. Likewise, an event where all players are on settler difficulty. Causes changes in strategy for civs and techs and numerous other choices.
2. Big continents game. Really big. Something that lasts a while on purpose, more of a true civ experience game with no limits.
3. How about an industrial or ren era islands game. Would be pretty wild....might need an "equal" version of islands somehow to balance a bit.
4. Always peace game? not occ. Perhaps with the goal of reaching a particular technology first. Once the tech is reached the winners declare it so and screenshot their advancement along with a save.
5. How about a point race game? First team/player to X points wins, depending on if team or single player event. Could also fit under the blanket of always peace game, but would be interesting as a war game as well.
6. A particularly wild idea, what if in an occ type game players could choose ahead of time what their land was? Each entering player would create land up to 40% expansion (no duplication of any resource is allowed) exactly how they like and submit it to an admin who would put all the player's lands on a map for play. This would be incredibly strategic as it would not only require a player to play well but to understand what they should have to best maximize their city.
