Hey tommynt, you may be good in many game, but in occ only one thing to say: YOU ARE A BIG NOOB!!!! When i saw the standing, i was waiting for 4 people in final: jibs Numberonemercury Kazach and me (i never saw drshot and you in occ...) i play many occ, i know nearly all specialists in occ.... And you are too pretentious.... In our game before you died, you said to me and drshot thats we where noob and we should better concede against the great player you are and drshot:when i attacked tommynt i had the best power and i send all my army, you saw only my units after tommynt send all to mine lol.... and tommynt: you are stupid to send me 11 longbow while i had 10 cavs in my city lol thanks for the free general ans xp.... if you kept you longbow in your city you should never died and finally, thanks to build road to my city lol, i could use it for going straight to your city.... well for finish: YOU PLAYED LIKE THE BIGGEST NOOB I NEVER SEEN IN OCC
you stop playing? nice new, i dont like stupid and pretentious guys
hope never cu back (when we say someone cheat whitout good reason, we should better say nothing) i m chocked that people can say people cheat without any proof

one city elim is fine, no c4f's next time pls In an Ancient game where you can't see the location of any strategic resources at the start, 1 city elimination gives a huge advantage to players who receive Broze or Horse in their capital. The common response to someone complaining about missing out on resources is to "build a second city to get the resource." Well you're taking a huge risk to do this when it's so cheap for someone to get out Impis or Chariots and have them roaming about just waiting for a poorly defended but much needed city is planted. Lessening the impact of the resource lottery and increasing the focus on strategy and skill should be our focus here, and I think that changing the Ancient teamer to 2 city elimination would help do this. Also, in response to the desire for a bigger game, changing this event to 4v4 Standard TBG would also help by putting a little more distance between the two teams.

On close starts clever players will gain the upper hand without a resource. Making civs start further apart actually makes ancient more based on luck.
As for using the C4F map, someone please explain to me why it's so bad???

There 's an other way to do that : use C4F map. That's what we done, and it's fun. But I have another idea for this event. I must admit it is a weird idea, but think to it, i'm sure it is not stupid : banning all civs with UUs appearing in ancient or classical era . So no impis, no skirmish rush, you have a real chance to defend against chariots with archers (what's very hard against immortals or war chariots). In this case you can survive even without ressource, and wait for help from one of your mates. This way, we wouldn't need to play C4F map anymore.

Some1 asked, ya I kinda stoped playing.
main reasons: - mainly 1 setting played all time, boring - too many anyoing dumbs around - still huge technical problems (lags, connection) - patches and warlords took away micro and worker steeling, my 2 favourite things to do - no new challenging good players, kinda boring playing allways vs same guys espacially when most of em dont improve. When RedPhoenix came back after about 3 month civbreak he was like right away one of best players again, what a poor sign for all the others who could not improve in that time. - another sad part of people not improving is that there are still way too fast unneeded kills in teamer. I dont like playing 3 vs 4 for 80 turns.
only reason I still play by times is to have fun with some clanmates

<ANGRY MODE ON> Some improve, some don't and stay at same level... and some die more often than before expansion/patches... becoming regular "good" player instead of the "expert" they used to be... and start thinking about stopping playing this game, finding many false good reasons to do so ;D Sorry but I'm just tired of those "ego" posts, you're not the "best" civ4 player anymore, live with it and don't put the blame on others I've never been and won't be the best civ4 player, I'll report a lot of losses and that's fine... i'll still try to do my best and say gg at the end of match instead of usual crap you say/post whenever you lose (because of cheaters, of lag, of map, of settings, of teammates but never because of you) ;D <ANGRY MODE OFF>

I feel as though I understand Lestat that little bit more. I don't understand either... what's wrong with having a really nice starting position that gives everyone equal land? In my experience, it's not very intelligent to move more than 1 tile from your initial starting location on c4f maps.

The game becomes stale if everyone has all resources, civ has always been about playing diffrently from one game to another. Trying to hook up a resource is half then fun, if too many games are decided purely by resources it means the map is too small. The posts tommy/MGT/DD/Necro make never beat around the bush

quote Eiffel: Sorry but I'm just tired of those "ego" posts, you're not the "best" civ4 player anymore, live with it and don't put the blame on others I've never been and won't be the best civ4 player, I'll report a lot of losses and that's fine... i'll still try to do my best and say gg at the end of match instead of usual crap you say/post whenever you lose (because of cheaters, of lag, of map, of settings, of teammates but never because of you) Eiffel tell me the guy who is able to beat me in 2 different eras in 1-1. Tell me any guy who ll possible win Ironman all 5 times he plays it. Show my some1 getting above 75% win with playing very few ctons. If there were these great new players I d be happy to play em. Apart that I lost a single game in this ccc (a 1 vs 2 ...), so I have no clue where your assumptions about me loosing come from. I never ever have accused lag or teammates of loosing, so if u have no clue pls stfu and go home. This behaviour of just stating some bs to tier some1 else down is reason why I dont like this community anymore. There is no post or thread where not some1 else answers some general dumb crap without backing his words up. I just read the words cheater, thats really ueberdumb. There are no cheats in civ4 mp imo, so how could i accuse some1 else of cheating? Eiffel do u talk this nonsense in real life aswell? U must be a funny guy then. Apart that I never said that I was the best player, there is no best player in a game with that many options. Also skill does need to be trained. But still I have best stats on this ladder and best ccc performances (apart slaughter who really rocks ccc ;D ), so I showed some skill for a rather long constant time. And atm is Poly ( a great guy n1 on ladder, I doubt there there are guys in top ranks on ladder who d stop me climbing it up to him if i d try.

Yep that was bad, u was >> me in future by then. But I improved my future I have no clue about my modern as it s hardly played, and I m not the 1 really interested in hosting 1 up. But I remeber to slay IC 2 times pretty bad in modern. Btw nice to see u back willburn, I might look for a game tonight. Maybe a 1-1 modern vs u Oh yeah eiffel I wonder where your assumptions about me improving or not improving come from as I dont remeber much games latly vs u. All i can say is that I was still very much able to compete in last ccc
