I read somewhere that a Keyboard is comming to the 360 so who knows perhaps a mouse will come soon as well but would make a lot of sence if say At least they developed CIV5 with next gen consoles in mind Wasnt civ2 ported to PS? Once consoles get mouse and keyboard, I'm getting one.

A skilled player can make poor situations work in his favour I know some good examples where that is just simply not the case, but I do prefer variety as I enjoy exploring new lands. So what if you lose some, over the long run quality will tell.

Attacking the point leader is fair game whilst attacking a civilization which isn't going to challenge your end-game position is a luxury.
I can remember sending a large stack of Mongol horseman across 3 or 4 civs lands to hit someone ahead of me in points. What surprised me most was no-one challenged it on its path, the other players showed far more perception than I would have normally given credit to them for.

Think people fear the horse-rush of doom in classical if I've got my eras right. Just takes you to have horse and them not to and there could be trouble ahead. I think the patch will address this somewhat and make this era a more popular option hopefully

1. There is nothing worse than a stat-resetter, I think we should be allowed to throw rocks at them and their player profile should be in yellow. 2. This Hall of Fame thing we got going on. Take win % for over 50 games or some such nonsense. The % there bear no relation to the actual win loss % of those players. Take Germania (no wait, he has reset his stats), okay take MGT. It has his win to loss % as over 80% on hall of fame, in reality it is just over 60% and has been for a while. This is true of MOST of the players there. Then there is me with 79.3% win/loss and I'm no-where to be seen when in reality I'd be up in all likelihood. 3. The game hates me. Cton game, usual things of starting next to someone and ending up in the war of the archers till I strangle him. The point, ah yes, in this delightful game (which would have been a clear victory if I hadn't been pipped to Hanging Gardens to by a no-hoper civ with 1 city, 1 city what you wanting those gardens for???). AH the point. Yep, me and MIP ended on the same score 988. The game says MIP wins a time victory at the end of the 120 turns...but, same score, MEH? What are the rules for a draw in score, both me and MIP have screenie of this rather odd situation. /rant off.

Dudes on enemy were tommynt, RedPhoenix, Humpfry and I forget other. OMFGBBQ! ;D Well done Arma, beating Tommynt in a teamer is generally very hard going. Whilst you've named two top ranking players there in tommynt and RedPhoenix, spill the beans who was backing you up as I know those guys don't just pick on newbs they have top captains vote. Though saying that why weren't Captains Tommynt and the RedPhoenix?

Yeah I was being somewwhat Ironic but I like Magzi live in the GMT timezone and I always seem to miss them, when I get into the lobby there's nothing but ctons and the like. I have played 1 ren teamer in about a month, so I can understand where she's coming from? I'm stuck with the pointless buildfest anc ctons at the moment. Boo hoo roll on the patch I get plenty of teamer action and I'm in the GMT timezone...

As i sugessted in start of ladder it stay still. Now u have track of all posters here. Just modify member privilegs on all MAIN topic and OFF topic. Yes i kno it cost many of work but in that way this forum will be more sirious. E.G. (this is just E.G.) revoke all SidTheShe writing privileges from all topic (Embryo's group). How Just create 3 groups of members : 1. Serious members (have all privileges in all topic) : who post about game , rare spam etc..2. Kids (read main topic + all privileges on off topics) : mixed posting - sirous + spam3. Embryo's (only read privileges on all topic) : Ultra spamersThen grant privileges on each TOPIC to each group and finaly attach 1 group to each member. Also, if u can do that, dont show OFF TOPIC in last 20 posts. U have tools just use it. Can I decide what category you go into?

Sidhe - you've got an awfully high opinion of yourself given a 48% win rate and barely being able to string 11 victories together. Whilst Fried may find it harder now more people in the ladder are experienced and he doesn't play nearly as much as others I am sure that in a setting where his defeat won't be determined by some other player he'll do great. Teamers are my big loss area, the bigger the team, the greater the danger. 5 vs 5 is extremely high risk for a strong player keen not to get losses on his account, 4 vs 4 is pretty dangerous too. 3 vs 3 its your own fault Anyone with over 130 games and only 4 losses is a touch of class as far as I'm concerned, now if they have 191 wins and over 200 losses, well, we'd call them Sidhe.

So, if MGT has beaten Fried and I've beaten MGT all three times I've played him... (2 x 1 Vs 1 and 1 x 3 vs 3 where I rushed him)

Well, I ALWAYS have my AOL browser open and I've been able to play well over 250 games now.
I don't think this is the answer, or the most important thread ever...I really thought that we'd get to read MGT's post of resignation this thread, I really did.

A size 1 city for a long period simply means that the chap is building a worker from the off.
Not a fan of that style of play, I prefer to pop to 3-4 and then worker simply as it is more flexible, especially if you are choked early.
Congratulations to Yumpak on being cleared, be glad to play you anytime. Congratulations to Civ IV MP on being cleared of having let haxxors run rampant.
As for the comment re: streaking 107 playing ctons against anybody that turns up. That is far more possible than by playing teamers, I'd have some unholy streak were it not for my partaking in team games where I've found it far harder to win consistently.

Well as a rank no. 18 (top ever 5) I played my 4th or 5th 1 vs 1 to keep him MrGameTheory happy. It didn't work, he is still not happy. Hehe, it is called a pre-emptive strike. His first chariot attacked my skirmisher outside his empty second city and lost. My skimisher was damaged and got a promotion, so I bung that in and it goes to yellow and has the +10% by which stage his chariot from the city attacks. I don't know how he came to a 90% chance attacking a yellow skimisher promoted to +10%, but I'm glad to say it annoyed him. Fact is I had the initiative, pressing on his cities and instead of calmly dealing with it he throws in the chariots and then whines. After which point my horse-archers come and round up his settlers and workers and move in for the kill. I've some cute screenshots I wouldn't have said a thing, but for the whole performance I got for my units having the audacity to win and then my following it up promptly.

Why would it be patched? There's always going to be a distance for 1 gold maintenance, and always going to be one tile shorter distance than that. If you want to place your cities so tightly as to avoid paying 1 extra gold rather than have an ideal placement, that, as Sid would put it, is one of the game's "interesting decisions" that you have to make. It's only when the game has a clearly, demonstrably, always best in all situations decision that it needs patching. Myself, I'd rather tack on one more gold in one city for maintenance and score some iron, gems, whatever. This isn't like PTW's RCP - it doesn't affect every city; just that one. I was referring to the +1 hammers for town in universal suffrage and +2 gold for free speech being stackable in a teamer exploit i.e. +2 hammers and +8 gold for the team in a 4v4(which can't even be displayed on the screen, too crowded) C'mon guys don't you ever visit the lobby ;D This is in fact what MrLametheory was referring to. Such a bad exploit that all use of it should be banned and labeled as cheating. Anyone who wins by using this or has won is pretty lame IMO, that he chose to go on using this blatantly unbeatable exploit is pretty shameful, if he had any honour at all he should of posted this immediately in this forum . A hollow set of victories for Game I am still confused as to why this makes Lizzy of particular mention...
