Auf Battlefield(BF) gibt es ca. 80-100 aktive deutsche Ladderspieler. Also Euer Team könntet Ihr locker besetzen.

I don't know about anything about donny specifically, but as for clan tags in general ... Back in the day where all the TX and SC guys used their clan tags, I'd say it was maybe 50/50 whether or not they had their official ladder account set up with the clan tag or not. Not a huge deal ... for example ... [TX]longhorn or longhorn, it was all the same to me, everyone knew the deal . true mook, it's no big deal for me either ... but it starts to be one if this person uses the different ladder account to avoid reporting - and even more if the person is new to ladder gaming, i won't have any doubt if nero would use his ladder name w/o [GC] tag in gs lobby coz he's well known to be highly trustable ;D

i did not look it up because i entered last and knew the host so thought he would have done it before - all players were ready, so i just [x] in to speed it up ... lesson for the next time to always look up ALL player in staging (always thought it's up to the host to do so, never learned out ). hmm, i still think it's not an imposter ... what was the name of the guy in the other games, if he has a +90 streak there had to be enough players report to him, maybe they can remember if he used the same name there. as you can only see a few days into the past, there are only a handfull of ppl i know who reported to him, like [9]iron or swissy, any1 can confirm his in-game name? ps: thx bantams for your help with that confirmation email for my forum account - it arrived late night today, don't know why it needed that long.

oh well, rules are rules, but it's not like there are entering some unknown players and it's easy to forget such registration - i'd like to see them playing just to have lots of teams in there.
what about a consensus, let them play but only with players that where on the last COT's roster?

* The map is huge even on duel size. yea, like i said, the map script generates really big maps ... since duel is they smallest size and high sea will give you only 1 tile land on the right/left edge in 99%, there's no chance to make it smaller * You cannot play Modern on a Fast Timer. You will not be able to finish your turns, and in a 1 city elimination game you cannot afford to be trying to move all of your units during the last 10 seconds of a turn. We play using a Medium Timer for the Random/Random, and probably should here as well. well, you CAN play modern on a fast timer ;D ... only the 1st maybe 10 turns are hard, after that it's manageable (depends on the player though, if you are not familiar with later eras it might be even harder, but for myself i have no probs with fast ), but i'm ok with playing it on medium (as long as ppl hit enter if it's anc/class or just concede if they let 5 turns hit zero in a row ) * 120 turns in the advanced eras is going to result in some very long games. Unless people are dying left and right to rushes, this event will take much longer than it ever has before. oops, i missed the turn limit in my test games ... the AI was dead too early, but i agree that 120 turns might be too much - 100 turns should be a good middle and acceptable in every era. I'm echoing everything mookie said here. This map was larger than it needed to be on a modern game. Forget about ever attacking during the early eras. Your opponents will be so far away what's the point of ever attacking? Build-fest. building is part of the game, we have events like CTON and ironman which are mainly build-fests ... and imho you can have good fights starting with class or at least medi, those few games starting at anc, well, build better than your opp ...

i think you got me wrong, DTA ... the screenies i sent from a tiny map were to show how big it is, you can easily plant 14-15 cities on a decent map which is way too much imho, even for later eras. and the starting locs are mostly far away from each other which will end in a buildfest, for sure in eras prior to ren ... everyone who ever played an anc/class on inland sea vs a decent opp should know that you nearly have no chance to attack (maybe a sneaky attack with 2 movers but if your opp isn't really dumb it shouldn't work).
my tests on duel size and med sea were just fine, 8-9 cities for each player (if both build up nearly same speed, and maybe esp. in mid_era games culture bombs may gain you more land) which is even enough for later eras, sure you might have early fights then, depends on your and your opp's playstyle though. imho it won't even be a bloodbath in future, if you plant your 3 cities somewhat near to startloc, your starting mechs still need 5-7 turns to reach your opp which is kinda the same in the normal future event.

there will be a sticky thread in this section which will be looking like this CCC XLV - March 30 - April 1, 2007 or similar, where all events, dates and times will be posted. you need to reply to this thread posting your clans CCC roster before Friday, March 30 at 12:01 am and all is set. remember that all your team members need to have a ladder account to play in the tourneys and that only a maximum of 16 clans may enter on a "first come, fist serve" basis (but i hardly doubt that we break this limit anyhow). good luck and have fun at your first CCC ... and prepare for not much sleep

iirc seeding by rank will only use the 1st regged player's skill to do the seeding, so teams will start to wait with registration until the very last second to have them signed by the player with the best suiting skill or teams will start withdrawing/rejoining with the appropriate 1st player.
and imho, if you want to win or score in a ccc event, you should be able to kill ANY team ... enough luck is involved in pairings, ask some players, they faced same teams/players in lots of events in 1st round.

i like the idea to use benchmarks like in normal ladder epics then just to give points at the end of the game, what about this suggestion:
there are 4 in-game benchmarks and 1 at the end of the game which will be at 2000BC, 0AD, 1000AD, 1500AD, final victory condition and give the following amount of points
in-game 1st - 5 pts 2nd - 4 pts 3rd - 3 pts 4th - 2 pts alive and still playing - 1 pts
end of game (or final victory condition) 1st - 8 pts 2nd - 5 pts 3rd - 3 pts 4th - 2 pts alive and still playing - 1 pts
all points of each benchmark are added together and devided by 3 (rounded down if <x.5 else rounded up to nearest integer), that will be the points the player/clan will get for the ironman event.
some examples:
if you ALWAYS come in 1st place at all benchmarks, you will receive 5+5+5+5+8 = 28:3 = 9 pts, which will be the highest amount to achieve then. ALWAYS 2nd: 4+4+4+4+5 = 21:3 = 7 pts. ALWAYS 3rd: 3+3+3+3+3 = 15:3 = 5 pts. ALWAYS 4th: 2+2+2+2+2 = 10:3 = 3 pts. ALWAYS not 1st-4th but alive and playing: 1+1+1+1+1 = 5:3 = 2 pts, so even if you finish last but played on till end, you receive 2 pts minimum.
and here some examples showing not so straight benchs: maybe with bad start, like 3rd+2nd+1st+1st+1st = 3+4+5+5+8 = 25:3 = 8 pts. or bad finish, like 1st+1st+3rd+2nd+3rd = 5+5+3+4+3 = 20:3 = 7 pts. or being only middle but coming into 3rd coz some1 died, like 4th+alive+alive+4th+3rd = 9:3 = 3 pts.
as you see, the points are nearly the same at the end like before with end-only-pointing, with the difference that you miss points if you quit coz you do not gain pts for being alive - maybe add -1 for every benchmark where AI is playing for a non-dead civ if you want to penalize more.
i did not check and calculate "extreme" situations, but i guess overall it's not a bad solution.

if you try to airlift unbits from a city with airfield to an external airbase built by a worker, the game crashes.
