Primax(from CFC) has been kind enough to recode the vanilla Civ Ultra Quick Civ(UQC) and the Unique Unit Maddness(UUMad) mods for Warlords 2.08. The descriptions are the same as the originals in the two threads by F-P. We need some testing for bugs and general feedback on these two mods. Especially the UUMad mod which doesn't have the new Warlords civs yet, so we need some idea's about what resources the new UU's in WL's should be linked too. Please have some fun with these and I'm hoping that these will be the start of some new fun games. UltraQuickCivUUMadnessOne more thing, you have to put these in your Warlords/mods folder with exactly the sub folder that is in the zip file. If you use a different folder name that everyone else no one will be able to see your games in the games list. Of course as with all mods, you have to load them first with the Advanced-Load a Mod menu and then the game will auto reboot and you can enter the MP lobby. If anyone can put these into an installer that will install them the same for everyone I would be greatfull. CS

These mods are a simple copy for copy version of the originals. And as CS stated, due to some additions in WL's these mods will need to be rebalanced.
These are the ladders mods and the only work I will do on them is what feedback and suggestions I get from you guys. So if you would like to see these mods back in WL's please download them, play test them and leave comments in this thread.
EDIT: Also I have created installer versions of these mods aswell as my Future Regicide beta if you could host them somewhere CS?
thanks

so far it appears the installer is installing files of varying size in regards to the Ultra Quick Mod. 34.5 MB appears to be the correct size of the file. Numerous people including myself have downloaded and gotten an 18.8 MB file. this results in people not being able to see games in the lobby. Tamijo, Bopper, and I all have the 34.5 and can join and see each others games. Not sure why or whatever, just thought i'd mention this is whats goin on so far.

after first game of Ultra Quick have few suggestions.... 1. don't play it on blazing LOL 2. i expanded very fast with minimal cottaging. maintanence seemed off or just not quite high enough. built great library around 2600 bc and hanging gardens around 2400 bc so the usual dates for milestones changes significantly. 3. was very fun and would play again 4. OCC good option for sure with this mod.
keep up the good work!!

Primax we discovered a small but annoying problem, it seems that if you don't have identical files(directory size) that you don't see the hosts game in the lobby list. Your zipped version had some bak files while your installer version does not. And for some reason even players that used your installer ended up with bak files while I did not, I actually had to have them emailed to me You have any ideas why this is happening? It's definitely something to fix before we take this prime time. CS

Make sure when you use the installer to check to make sure the Drive path is correct. (some people have civ on C:\ drive which the installer puts in by default, if your civ4 game is on D:\ drive make sure you change it)
or better yet just download the .zip files and do it that way.
Either way once the Ultra Quick Mod folder is installed and ready, it will be 34.5 kb not 18.4kb. If it isn't 34.5 you won't see games in the list.
In the last hour at least 10 people have D/L the Ultra Quick mod and everyone is ending up with the 18.4 size folder. Inside the assests-> xml-> GameInfo portion of the file they are all missing the BAK files and have only 2 files there instead of 4. And I must be noob at attaching the right files to an email cause unlike tamijo and canuck my help didn't help anyone at all. LOL

UU MADNESS
ancient start thoughts
1. Requiring Spices for Fast Worker not good. better to have a sea resource or Fur to make it so it can be built before the game is half over. 2. Jags have two movement no matter what the terrain. This should be fixed. 3. Quecha unit comes to late to be effective because of rice, corn requirement. Usual broze, animal, tech path means that farms don't go up until axes are already researched. Maybe make this unit have no requirement or change it to cows. 4. no hwacha unit yet. Iron and Rice would be good to make hwacha i think. 5. no Berserker yet. Iron, Fur, and Fish or Clam, plus sailing would be good. 6. Phalanx should be Copper and Gold not Iron and Gold

Sorry I didn't notice these posts until just now. Sounds like you have the installer issues sorted out? Tell me what you need done and it will be done.

Well when we do the revB changes i'll delete all the former links, but if you have any ideas on preventing the "bak" file issue in the future we should endeavour to keep that from happening again. We are all good MP players here but lots of people are not technically inclined CS

Well what I would suggest is remove the installer versions of both for the moment. I believe I did the same thing with the UU Madness installer as well.
On the next release I will include installer and zip versions that are both the same. We will try to get a release out next week for all 3 future, UUM and UQC that will hopefully have all issues sorted and any updates and comments integrated from the play tests.

Yes it's unfortunate that to prevent cheating in MP mods that the game mechanics have to be this specific about mod names and file checksums, but it's a small price to prevent cheating. We will do our best to make sure that we only release on size of mod of any version from now on.

just a thought with the UU Madness. If you make a UU require fish or clam, you might have to either not use them, or make the requirement an OR. Fish OR something. Playing MP on TBG where there is no water resource would be only reason to do that. but then again how many maps have no water resources just that one i think.
