I'm new. Ladder games emphasise the military side of the civ engine.
Would anybody play a cton with an always peaceful setting?
Is it possble to disable direct player to player chat ? [ie all chat is public]. The idea is to allow the same options between players you get with AIs in a solo game and to open up the trade and diplomacy parts of the game without losing the limits to interplayer communication .
cheers Ogno

There are several ladder players, like myself, that like to play a Always peace, raging barbs, 2 city elim game, as a change of pace once in awhile. I can be interesting because this should be played on a pangea based map were if you flip two city it's bye bye to your neighbour And raging barbs keeps people honest in the early game so it's not just a settler spam fest. U mean u want to see who can get a cultrue victory the fastest? Who wins the most relgions on same turn? could be a nice change? cultural victory can be disabled, but anyway with small islands you could attack with galleys, so it is a risk to go all culture. with 300 - 400 points start the max religions you can get is 2. That would prevent you from getting settlers, work boats & workers so I don't know if it is a good idea.
