I finally found my Civ disks and was trying to install it on my new comp. Anyway at this time I am running a quad core 6700 and 2 N Vida 8800 GTXs, I am running Vista on a 64 bit install. Well my problem comes when it asks for the second disk. Each time it tells me that a fatal error occurs and not much more info. I guess my question is has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what was the work around? I have tried to install like 10 times...

I'd guess that you may have a scratched disk, have you tried copying the contents to your HD?

No CS it is not that kind of error from my experience, but I think that may be a good idea to try. I say no be cause I can access the disk and look at files but when installing and the CAB (when auto played) file pops up it halts the install process. But what about the hidden files, how will I unlock that stuff, to get game to function?

I don't think there are any hidden files on the CD just read only of course. It sounds like maybe the install routine is failing the checksum check of the CAB files if you manage to successfully copy the contents or do a disk copy you can always make a backup of the disks. Otherwise you'll need to either buy a new set or get the files some other way. As long as your warlord disk is good then playing WL's won't be a problem.

Up until this year most computers sold here didn't come with a DVD player. CS

I am new at this forum, so excuse me if I am intruding. I have areal problem trying to start the game. It was running OK and now it gives m a message of failed initializing python...every time. Is it because of a bug..the patch?...any suggestions on this matter?

I would try a uninstall/reinstall, if that doesn't work you can post the files it says are missing and they can be emailed to you or some other way. CS
