I really dont know whats going on here, I insert the correct disk ( disk 2 the play disk, due to mislabeling) and a screen pops up with a RAR arcived file called data 3. I cant extract it and it doesnt automatically prompt me to install. I bought the special edition, could this be the problem??? Please advise. D\data3.cab the archive is in either unknown format or damaged this is the error message i get when trying to open it I just spent 60 bucks on this game and im sorry, but this is crap

You need to install from Disk 1. After the install process begins you will be prompted to insert Disk 2 (do it in the same drive). The game will install from there.
The mislabeling is that disk 2 is labeled as the play disk; in reality the disk to insert to play is disk 1.

Don't worry you don't have to do anything with that explorer window but click the close X. The installer prompted you to insert disk 2, do so and click ok, and the install will finish. CS

No CS. What is happening is when he places the disc in. It acts like it doesn't have an .exe One disc will go to a zipped file of the game (which can't be unzipped) and the other won't do anything at all. It doesn't even recognize in the cd tray. I was there i saw it. It just won't work no matter what we tried. I am goin to go over there in the morning and try to install my game on his pc and see if it is just the disc. ....More infor following.

Well you can try to copy the data3.cab to your hardrive and telling the install program were to find it. But I have heard that some of the disks are damaged and people have taken them back to the outlet.

Damaged as in physical damage? Cause mine are fine that way. No I'm suspecting that the disk manufacting process was faulty and the disk wasn't "mastered" right and therefore your CD drive failed to read the disk right. CS

Well when you rush 800,000 copies of a game to stores in 7 days, your bound to get a few dudes I guess.
