Who's whining? you're lame that's all i have to say about it. And as for MGT, he's straight up lying. When I was #1 he HOUNDED me to get in my teamers, I played with him more than I ever had before. That's how he gets to #1, play in teamers with big rank, then once you get to top 3, you formal challenge your way to #1 or ask for 1v1 games. You did the same NOM, you earned #1 through teamers, and I think it should be reciprocated, but it's your choice, and really I don't care, but don't brag about it when ur the one being lame. If you like (and if you are not chicken), I'd like to lay down the challenge to you: MUD vs GOD for #1 There it is, are you up to it noob? ps- the winner gets to pick the other team's new names for 1 week they have to go by it

NOM is the only guy in 1st place, actually be in first place and play OCC, Teamers, Ctons, Random Eras, actually I don't think there isn't a game NOM hasn't played. Judging by the ongoing drama of this thread it seems the only game he hasn't played is one with the #2 guy...

lol, like how you earned it NOM? By gaining #1 spot when khao didn't play for a week? You got to #1 by playing shuffle teamers, just like I got to #2. Being in the top 20 doesn't necessarily mean you are good, it just means you play a lot (which may make you good), or as 9 iron said "people in the top 20 are all unemployed." There are many weak players that have been #1 that have just played a lot. I think the crux of the issue is here. Sucky doesn't understand that the reason being in the top 20 doesn't mean anything is because of all the noob teamers, if people played more 1v1 then it would mean something. Sucky's assumption: 1) ranks are decided by noob teamers Sucky's assertion based on assumption: 2) rank doesn't mean anything Sucky's argument based upon assertion: 3) people should play noob teamers for rank because rank doesn't mean anything This my friends is circular reasoning, which for the logic impaired amongst you means that it is faulty, a non sequitur, nonsense and plainly sucky. And hence I rofl scoff and guffaw at your suggestion of propagating the current mockery of rank based upon the sucky reasoning behind it. This my friends is called making a difference. I henceforth declare myself guardian of the number one spot of the ladder by attacking Sucky's assumption that ranks are decided by noob teamers until a worthy successor arrives. Godspeed. This era shall not mirror the chaos of Zhenoob's tenure I hereby declare and hope that you will all support me in my endeavor and rejoice. However, I acknowledge that not all of you will for change is difficult and new ideas slow to propagate. For those of you I simply ask that you shelve your confusion and fear and refrain from invective and the hateful language that I have found within this thread. If even this is too much I can simply say that I forgive you and look forward to receiving your reports in the future. Thank you.

good GOD man....
I realize that there is a heated debate here with each side to their own opinion, but was it REALLY necessary to use all those big words and confuse them?

lol this is gonna be fun mll = missladyboy Actually it's MrLadyShmuck wow gone a couple short weeks and so much drama to catch up on I dont care about nom and chucky's feud, but i do agree it's cool that NoM plays OCC's, it's like free rank for me!! CS: If you ever find your programmer I would be able to donate server space for hosting a new ladder, as a pro web designer/programmer myself I have an ass load of bandwith and server space to burn, literallly an assload, as for programming it for free, ah hells naw lol, but if you can get a few hundred bucks together we could talk about that

how does 1v1 prove civ skill? u been listening to mgt too much. 1v1s are a specific skill as are teamers, they are as different as night and day. Playing 1v1 proves civ skill in 1v1s. Go play against lestat at OCC, MUD for teamers, etc etc

I agree with zhen, teamwork is a skill, my strength has always been ctons, but i recognize that teamwork is a skill that i personally need to improve in order to become a better all around player. The fact is that experience in all aspects of the game, eras and game types is most important.
The ladder system is not a show of the most skilled but i question that it even should be, i find the turnover that occurs which allows noobs like me to have the opportunity to fight for the #1 spot has value in and of itself. it gives folks the opportunity to strive for a goal, improve their focus... learn.
IMO it strengthens the overall community. besides when a noob gets the throne, then it doesn't last too long, its cool to retain the slot for a long time, but is best when the player remains active and takes the risk to let the game remain about the play, rather then the glory. Mentioned in this thread was the added pleasure and focus that accompanies games for the number one slot. i agree, only in the ccc do players invest as much effort, i have some games lodged into my memory as deeply as some childhood memory, as odd as that is, I think its great, wouldn't trade it for the world. Its tough to explain the next day at work why I'm in such a good mood. but as i see it, Its better to feel Good, then to feel Better
btw perhaps the spell check should recognize that "noob" is not mispelled

NOM, nice how you list the 5 MUD players that agreed with me and say its only because they are in MUD. What about the posts by these people.:
Alice 9 iron Tamijo necromonious
It is sad NOM, you really used to be a nice guy and everybody liked you (including me). Then after hours of civ, you actually got good at it. You got a big head and started being an not a very nice person to other players. People like you is the reason that GOD is going to be done, few players want to be in a clan with not a very nice persons like you. Also, maybe try get out once in a while on a Friday night, and learn some people skills

Not, that it is a big deal, but i was a #1 ranked player on the c3c ladder, so I have some perspective on the matter of rank. I think I lasted there about a week, maybe not even. I played several future teamers every night before I was number one and kept playing just as much after I happen to achieve rank 1. Those were exciting times. We never sneaked into our corner after rising to #1. We continued to play like the crazy addicts we were. As I said very exciting times. There was no less than one championship match every other day, with various players trading rank and jockeying into the top spot, on my rise up and decline out of the top 10. (On a side note I think I made it back to #3 one time before civ4 came out.) Now what do we have? Some lame nerds who think #1 is the holy grail or something and would kick their mother in front of a train to keep it. "Oh, so sorry but I(NOM) don't need to play you unless you jump through these 6 hoops first" It's sad to me that you are denying people that excitement and just another variable that has cause me to abandon Civ4. A toast to Civ3, and the great memories I have of it. AAAAHHHHH, thats that hit the spot. P.S. I notice I wasn't in the names of people arguing with you(NOM). Maybe sometimes I don't speak blunt enough for people with big egos, that only hear what they wish, to comprehend. For the record, I assume you must be some kinda total looser to so actively try to cling to the #1 spot and you are completely out of line.
