This is great news, personally speaking i will be willing to buy a 360/PS3 for this game. Firaxis can potentially make a killing here, and keep their fan base happy at the same time. Good new fresh ideas and solid MP could increase the fan base 10 fold.
But only with a mouse, joypad will be a joke.

Don't get confused by the marketing hype nic, they are trying to sell a console TBS game, they have to be over-the-top to have a chance of competing with the FPS and RPG's etc.
As Tony has stated I too hope that CR is MP compatable with the PC version and we we can use the console to bring in a much larger MP crowd. Time will tell. The flip side of that is of course more kiddies in the lobby and there immature attitudes....but we survive that now, we can survive that post console too.

Or just use youre PC K/B and Mouse either way dont worry about the Joypad Problems besides at least the consoles live chat system works! hell we can even look at each other on the 360 whilst nuking each other to pieces P.S my XBOX LIVE name is Bantams for those that have one

0) Kevin Sorbo should sue them for using his image to represent a peasant in the preview 1) They will go with X Box 360. 3) They will Emulate a transition similar to CC. 6) If they want to they can make it so Console can play PC. 9) There may actually be some respectable competition out there. 11) This will be the end of the ladder league but not the message board, but the message board will go to one of Microsoft's servers. 19) There is a nice probability there will be cash tournaments. 2) You will see a dramatic decrease in the content of a civ game. Im thinking 1/2 to 3/4 the size of Civ 4. 41) Ill try to fit in time to play this with you all but by that time Ill be playing the RL version of CIV and will probably not have time 7P5)I especially liked it when the preview said Civ was the greatest strategy game of all time. That pretty much makes me the greatest game strategist of all time ;D

Bring on the Revolution!
I've seriously gotten my hopes crazy high for this game. After hearing that Sid Meier himself is the lead designer and that the entire team that made Beyond The Sword has not been working on it because they were busy with BTS ... oooh ... this could be good!

Well I know that the MP programmer from Civ4 is working on CR,and is dedicated to not repeating any of the issues Civ4 had....but what exactly that means was unclear and he couldn't tell me any details about CR.......so I'm still of the wait and see attitude. Like all games the core decisions were made ages ago, so even if we could influence the design we are far to late now.

CS If Duke Nukem Forever has taught gamers anything....it's that it's never too late to make a change to a game. I'll be renting CR before I buy this time....another beauty of console games. You can sample the milk before you buy it.

Well unless it comes out in a PS2 version I'll have to wait for your review As I doubt I'll spend money on a console for a single game I may or may not like..... CS

CR as non PC version only will be bad. Might split the small number of reliable Civ players even more
