Back to teamers, i think what spoiled the "pick" thing, was that when the better players stopped playing a lot, some lost rank so Caps based on rank became a joke. Would be a lot better to just allways set up games based on skill rating, 1 - 4 -5 - 7- 9 - 11 ect. against 2 - 3 - 6 - 8 10 ect.
Would offcourse not be 100% fair, but nothing would !
But it would be pretty fast, hard to argue about, and i think pretty fair too.
But wtf we all know it will never change, and the rather stupid shuffle will be standart, cos most people including myself havent got the time to wait 30-40 min in staging with people comming in and out, to get a fair pick.
If you got a wify and stuff, you need to get the games started, drops and subs ect. ; if staging 1 hour +, all ads up to some very long games sometime.

Skill rating isn't really any more of an accurate reflection of actual skill than rank. In fact, it may even be worse, as it's very dependent on win streaks. Get a huge win streak and your skill rating will go sky high. Lose 1 teamer while you have a good skill rating and you lose 100-200 skill points all at once. As a lifelong Civ fan I never really got into any other PC games. However, after a few days of playing the World In Conflict beta and seeing all the stuff that Civ MP should and could have been ... damn. The developers really dropped the ball on this one ... it's no wonder that a closed beta has 10,000 ranked players on its built in ladder and this game has only a couple hundred here .

Stand up against Random/Shuffle teamers! I never play them and some players will hate me for slowing down the staging process but once we play a great three hour game (instead of a horrendous, torture filled, miserable 1 hour game where you get triple teamed by izzy, shaka, and hatty with england (It's happened to me )) they tend to thank me in the end.

to pick caps u just generally have to rely on common sense. rank and skill or any of the ladder stats for that matter dont really tell who would be best caps or who is better than who.
tbh, i dont mind shuffle that much... but yeh, can understand why people hate it. btw, does anyone play ren IS anymore?? i remember when that used to be like, every single teamer...never shuffled either cuz of the importance of civs. i kinda miss the 6 hour lagfest game that was the ren teamer....

Of course there will be more in that fps game. Most people have no patience, which civ needs alot of.
What most games don't have, that civ has, are... /bugs/never ending teamers/spammers/Blazing Timer/Ladderbux/Great Strategists(Kingzee)/rE-Tards (Osmarchito)/Complainers/Amazing helpers in lobby/dying to a warrior turn 5/losing 101% odds, making for a great game.

I Dont see the problem everyone should know who the good players are by now you play them enough times so pick the 2 who are best in youre game and make them caps if everyone else is a NooB then you just say sorry guys gotta go or dont join the game in the first place

All that leaves is RaY entertainment games and people complain when we play those.

I think what he is trying to say is if u are gong to play a noob (open) teamer then dont come complaining to us about all the noobish acts that people get up too. Not everyone in this game can be as good as one another so just accept it and maybe dont play the games if u are just going to moan about it. Next time u go into a noob teamer u should know what to expect so be ready for it. THREAD CLOSED

Next time u go into a noob teamer u should know what to expect so be ready for it. I think you entirely missed the point I was trying to make with this thread. Noob teamers never used to be so full of noobs. Things have gotten a lot worse. I believe the majority of it has to do with the settings of the games, and I stated numerous examples. While it's true that "not everyone in this game can be as good as one another," there is no reason to "just accept it." People can get better if they want to, but it really seems to me that they'd rather just play as many games as possible rather than try to improve. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to accept that instead.

i totally understand with what u wrote in this thread at the start about the same settings and the numerous amount of times that people play it. But if there was a game up with that setting and i went into it and played it, I cant realy complain much about it. Ladder Teamers AND Ctons need alot more variety in them for people to actually get better at this game. Playing the same thing over and over doesnt make u a good player. But we arent all the same and we all dont want to learn, most of us here are jsut here for the fun of the game and the people that we play with. Playing a fast intense battle on tbg medi std might actually be fun for alot of people as they may think it is exciting, therefore why they play it all the time. Basically for a decent game for the other half of people that want to learn you have to basically hand pick the people and all agree on a decent map/gametype. This is why these games are so much harder to find in the lobby. Therefore why Clan matches are so much popular now as people in these clans are willing to learn and play different gametypes.
So in short if u want a decent game jsut make sure u have the right people and if u dont, and play the game, then expect for whatever could happen.
