I voted for option 1, not because i think the current system is perfect but because it the closest to
"NO. The ranking system is fine, no sysytem can compensate for week players easily being able to beat stronger players in teamers (ctons to0 in some circumstances)"
This means alot the the reports are inaccurate thus and the ranking system reflects this pefectly, skill rating suffers from the same thing the only diffrence with skill rating is you can go from 1st to like 100 with 1 teamer loss LOOL. As far as a ranking system goes that covered ctons, epics, teamers, how active somsone is(this also has to be taken into consideration, although maybe its too important in current system).
If you want a totally fair system all games have to be 1v1 where all games have equal value and "inaccurate" or "fluke" wins are alot rarer, in which case this system is VERY VERY VERY fair.

Bump down in rank is a strange issue due to people going on Vacation etc But i would vote for it if it was a option say drop 10 rungs if not active for 10 days etc or 1 rung if not Active for 1 day if its possible However a Few players come to mind Who could be booted to make the ladder Better ;D

Tony is right here there can be no perfect ranking system in place but the one we have is the best we are going to get. 1v1's for the rest of my civ life just wouldnt be right. I dont know why people are so worried about this. Ranks shouldnt matter we all know how good everyone is so lets just stick to our own personal judgement of players instead of there rank.

While I appreciate a discussion on ladder systems, we really don't have the ability to change the way Cases runs there system. The one setting we can alter is the jump to the person you've beat. Right now it's set a 50%, meaning when you beat someone up the ladder from you your rank going up half way to his. We can change that up or down making the "ladder erosion" faster or slower.

ladder would only be absolute accurate if all we ever played was 1v1.
maybe have option where u enter what type of game u played and have sub option ranks. eg a teamer rank, 1v1 rank, overall etc.

CS IMHO, if you could decrease that value to maybe 25% or 33% it would be alot better. Get to the top 20 when you have lets say a 200 rank goes way to fast. Just play 2 teamers with mostly top 20 players and win, and you will be there. I played 2 teamers, both 4v4 with "good" ranks. i went from 209 to 16 in 2 (two) games! (darn cap again was my first thought ) It should take time and effort to become a top 20 player, also ithink its better to have skillrating for rank. Donno how skillrating is valued atm but one idea might be to have numbers of games reported should increase your skill to a certain point, lets say if you reach 1000 games then you dont get more "skill" due to number of games played. In this way it should be hard for "newbies" to reach the top 20 spot and the rank should be more accurate. Then we need more values that defines the skill rating, like win% and more. Well i dont know, but as i see it. the system today dont really work. But as been said before, all know all and reputation is more importent then rank.

skill rating as rank rating? if u want that just have a look onto skill ratings and figure out who the real top players are.
apart that this system would be ueber boring - people playing ctons only instead proving real skillz would dominate and I d still have top ranking even when being totally inactive - not a real mirror of actual civers skillz playing the game

Actually Tommy, by skill rating alone this would be the current ranking--you'd be #27 not #1. Also note that there are plenty of teamer players on this list:

The only thing currently wrong with the ladder is all the GOD Adepts who play FFH2 (i pray this is a ccc event in the future) and people who don't report after games. I love how they think they have 24 hours. The real ladder reform needs to be stiffer punishment for non reporters. Darkwooddub, Arnidzhan, NeroWolf, karstale something or other. I want my reports. Yes Tony I always want my reports and the rest of you do to. Just report the games before you even leave the damn game. Its really easy. The non reports are a pain in the ass and I'm sick of doing them. So if you owe a report to me just do it, because I do all non reports. MORE PUNISHMENT FOR NON REPORTERS Third offense see you in a month imo. Btw if you haven't played FFH2 I'll let you know what it is in my one game. MLL jerks off to his GNP and Gefi makes adepts and spams skeletons. The whole process takes about 8 hours until someone actually loses a city ;D
