by the end of the day, mGtea will lose his #1 position due to "inactivity"
he'll be able to say "no one beat me and took it from me, I was just too busy to play civ"
job well done I say - not for holding his #1 title without being beaten, but for staying inactive.
you GO girl, snap-snap!!!

i personally dont see what the problem with the ladder is, it seems to be clocking up LOADS of reports everyday, generally speaking i would say it is well managed! IMO, it's this forum, and not the ladder that needs to get a complete overhaul.

Put your foot down. All the threads/posts that are made solely to harrass/attack/take a shot at other players/admins should just be deleted. It seems like this General Board is more of a gossip board than anything. Serious ladder issues should be posted here, not the crap that is usually getting posted.
Also there needs to be some new threads in the strategy section! Does nobody have the time to write up some quick strategies and start good conversations? I think that would be a much better time-spender than half the threads on this board.

With thousands of articles written on the this game (probably more than any other games), not sure what is more there to say.

CV I know all about CFC. It's a great site, I played quite a few Succession Games when cIV first came out. Still, most of the strategies there are Single-Player strategies made by SP players and the few MP strats that are there are (mostly) made my non-ladder players and are not available on this board.

knupp there is a multiplayer section CFC and poly's MP sections are mostly aimed at PBEM and pitboss games, not the fast paced MP style that we play, and while good MP strategy can easily be used in SP the reverse is not true. I'd like to see more new MP strategy articles as well, but I think two issues are preventing that from happening, one is that most MPers just want to play the game and not spend time writing and two, competitive MPers especially clan members don't want to give away there "secret" strategies, but I'm open to idea's to promote sharing of strategies in that section. And Knupp as far as the issue of moderating the forums, that is a dammed if you do and dammed if you don't situation. As you can see in the "censored" thread, people got upset because I moved one totally useless post by MrGT. Perhaps I'll put a poll up to gauge what the general feeling is on moderating the boards, but that is one issue that is going to upset someone no matter what we do. CS

CS Yes CS sorry about that, was maby just my Azz beeing bored. And my curiosity taking controll off me. It was not my intention to sound as if im all for people trowing dirt on each other's faces, without anyone able to controll that. Is fine that you remove stuf that is offencive to fellow players. I personaly pissed about the way the so called "free" world is killing people in the name off "democracy", and that triggered my analogy to censur, i was too stupid to think, that the reaction would be that it is OK to harras each other in the forum. As the old Tao'ists said, the one speaking isnt thinking, and the thinker isnt talking. I should have shut my mouth.

Agreed. MP articles much harder to write than SP because SP can be studied in a controlled environment. A strategy article is useful only if it is a complete guide, which systematically address a particular setting. As rude as MGT is, he understands this. The best strategy article in the entire ladder forum is MGT 5x5 Renaissance inland strategy. The advantage of of MGT's article is: (1) Completeness Instructions of tactics for each of the 5 players; Instructions for the entire game period of 120 turns; (2) Communications Between players (3) Captain's role. (4) Milestones. Thus far, No other article has matched MGT' article in completeness. However, MGT's article can still be strengthen significantly, especially in the strategic area. For example, (1) Team strategy should be (left side, right side) (offense, offense), (offense, defense), (defense, offense), (defense, defense) and what are the determining factors. (2) Offense scale The offense should be 3 attacking, 3.5 attacking, 4 attacking, ... and what are the determining factors. (3) Navy or no navy (4) Losing team take advantage of the end-game situation to have all out war without regarding counter offense, ... (5) Front line formation (attacking 2 cities vs attacking 1 city) (6) Attacking stack composition (all double movement vs single movement) This list is on and on.
