From CS ... "They are late game benchmarks so alot happens between them. I would recommend using 1000BC, 1AD, 1000AD as your first 3 BM, and from then on use the normal ones, when I wrote te orginal post I didn't realize how slow the early game is in a normal epic." So thats the answer ... alot happens. I'm not sure I agree with only 50 years between 1900 and 1950 but since you are spouting that I have no right to question it because it was stated earlier I'll shut up now. I believe the later years (2000 and 2050) are benchmarks because that's when the actual game changes SIGNIFICANTLY from MORE YEARS per turn to LESS years per turn (3 or 5? I can't remember, sorry). Consequently, there are more actual game-turns from 2000-2050 than between say 1500-1800 AD. at the beginning of the game (BC) with 100's of years I think is one turn; the more modernized and advance the game in years (2000-2050), it's "years" reduce significantly until you're very close to 2045 and it's one year per turn I think. I don't remember the exact numbers - sorry.

Are we all gunna run this with the patch that is imminent?
There are balance issues:
Expansive gets +50% production for workers, and just +2 health Organized gets cheap Factories Creative gets cheap Libraries
If we all patch, players with these traits will morph.
We could just keep running with 1.63 but that may be an inconvenience for players in real-time MP.

Nobody replied to my last post; but the time is here. I'm told the patch is available using the in-game update function.
Are we gunna all patch-up for this game or continue with the game version we have?

Well it appears that if you patch you cannot play anymore unless you create two versions. Some folks in this game have already done so.
I'm quite willing to continue to play. I haven't patched yet and since I don't play realtime MP it doesn't bother me.
From what I've been reading the v208 patch has the original issue again with the wrong windows version so we are waiting on non firaxis folks to update the pitboss fix if we want to play any v208 pitboss games.

From Canuck Soldier:
For those who want to keep both versions of WL's to finish PBEM or DirectIP pitboss games here's what I do.
This assumes that you have not patched and still only have version 200, if you have patched you will have to uninstall WL's and reinstall WL ver 200 from the CD.
1. Open windows explorer, and navigate to C:\program files\firaxis games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\
2. You should now see a folder called Warlords, right click and drag that to your destop, when you release your mouse it will give you the option of copy or move please chose copy. You now have a copy of the original ver 200 folder.
3. Click on the folder name on the desktop folder, and change it to Warlords200, hit enter to finish the change.
4. Now move(not copy) that folder back into the "Sid Meier's Civilization 4\" folder, you should now have a Warlords folder and a Warlords200 folder.
5. Now you can feel free to patch via the WL's lobby or D/L from a fan sight. Unfortunately the Firaxis installers will only patch the WL's version that was originally installed, and it has no option to change folders. Which means that it will patch the orginal Warlords folder to 208.
6. Now you can create a shortcut to the exe in the Warlords200 folder to your desktop and after renaming it warlords200 you will now have a shortcut to 200 and the original 'Launch Civ4 Warlords" shortcut will launch ver 208, you can rename that shortcut Warlords208 if you like as well.
Now your off to the races, just becareful never to enter the MP lobby with ver200 or it will want to autopatch, just use 200 for your PBEM or DirectIP MP games.
Cheers CS
For those that patched without doing this, you are gunna have to back up.
Reinstall the original Warlords. Then follow CS's instructions. I need to know when we are all ready to go again.

Okay, this is the official screen shot for 1800 AD: Colonel_Treize and whiplash each moved up one position. Since the last benchmark, there was world peace for a time, then the First World War erupted just a few turns before this BM year. Who knows what will happen next! Please report losses to each of the names above yours. Of the players you report to, you must report in order of rank, from the highest rank to the lowest rank. Also, you must report them ASAP, before starting a different game and preferrably before ending your next turn in this one. As always, Necrominous may report at his own discretion. The next BM years are the following: 1900 AD, 1950 AD, 2000 AD and 2050 AD. It looks like this will be the last benchmark year before I leave for my holiday. We're at a crossroads where we must decide whether or not to continue upon my return, in light of the incompatibility of the new patch. I'm open to hear player's thoughts.

I have declared war on CTrain and have launched an attack on this turn. I was the last player to play the turn at 8:00 EST but will not use the double move. I will wait to move again until after CTrain plays the turn.
As Stin said a while back, it was getting boring. Also, I am respecting the original alliance on this continent (whiplash, necro, ctrain) which was violated by ctrain.

Yes, we are continuing. However, now it appears that we will pause the game this evening and continue upon my return on Dec 14....
Or...I may just give all my assets to some lucky player and bow out of the rest of the game so y'all can continue. I will give away all my cities and units in-game, and let my capital be captured. The only thing you'll have to do is find another host. I'm looking for a volunteer to just host. Thx.

Well, the "give-away" would severely unbalance the game.

This is the final screen shot for the game: As it says, Stin won a landslide diplomatic victory just one turn after we resumed play. Congratulations to Stin and thanks everyone for playing. Please report losses to each of the names above yours, replacing Stin's name at the top. Of the players you report to, you must report in order of rank, from the highest rank to the lowest rank. Charles Castillo is TheCTrain. Also, you must report them ASAP, before starting a different game. As always, Necrominous may report at his own discretion.--CT

Not sure why everything is blacked out ?
I'd suggest in future pitboss games that the game is not ended after any victory and allowed to continue so each player has a chance to log in and see the final stats.
Not that I doubt the stats... or Stin's win ... it's just that otherwise there is a potential for abuse by less honourable players.
I don't remember Conquistador so high ... I'm assuming that is the result of war somewhere ?
I'll report now.
Good Game folks ... Thank you Peter for hosting.

I dont understand why I finished first in points...I was bringing up rear all game....Maybe because I never entered a war, thus got some kind of bonus?
