Just wanted to pop in and say Hiyas to everyone.. Been following CIV for the last couple of months, reading all the reviews and checking out the screen shots. I have pre-ordered my copy and comes with all the cool nifty stuff.. Also wanted to let everyone know that come January I will be heading off to college to start a degree in Nursing.. So will get to play some while I am away. Also wanted to say GREAT JOB on the forum site.. looks great!! ;D Not much else, will be checking the site every couple of days till I get my copy of CIV. TigerLilly PS tried signing up for the CIV ladder, but haven't heard anything yet. Just wondering it if got lost in the mail or haven't sent out the emails yet.. Theres a name I haven't seen in a while Hows it going Lilly?

Hi everyone from downunder, Still waiting for Civ IV release down here, they tell us Monday 1st or Wednesday 3rd - sigh!!
Been a civ player since day 1 on my dear old 286, only just got broadband (if you don't have broadband in the land of Oz forget about playing online laaaaaaag!!!)
Total newb to online gaming of course but I plan to learn quick, like the idea of a community as well as a competition.
Thats all from downunder

Hey all! I was an active player back in the days of the civ2 GameLeague and I knew your noble leader CanuckSoldier back then. But then I missed the boat with Civ3, I heard it sucked and was mad they rushed the game and didn't include MP upfront so I didn't get the game at all until like a year and a half ago. And even then never played online at all. Whether I play online much with Civ4.... I dunno. A few team games would be nice. And perhaps if I've ever got some time I'll think about reviving the Diplogame genre for civ4, but who knows. I'll probably play mostly SP with a few pickup games here and there. But you never know, the competitive urge might hit me again and I'll start tearing up the ladder again.

Welcome back Ozzy, we don't do much in the way of Diplogames here at Civ4players we leave that to the SP Fan sights. But we do have a active PBEM section, and have taken part in the Intersite Demo games in C3C as likely will in CIV as well. An ofcourse we excell in any type of realtime MP games CS

They're already in the planning stages for one over at Apolyton now, multiple teams, as I understand it.

I am also happy to be aboard of this community, i've already got my gold membership and am absolutely loving the MP experience. I am new to online gaming(until now bad connection) but I played the first civ and absolutely flogged everyone that came after it to death including the expansions the CTP series and even test of time I thought I was the god of the game but my record begs to differ Some REAL competetion thats what its about

Hi everyone,
Very nice to see lots of familiar names!
Civ 4 has just been released here in Thailand but I am waiting for my comp to arrive from Australia & then I have to get broadband setup. Unfortunately things often happen very slowly in Thailand, unless you throw lots of money at the person causing the prob, so it will be Jan sometime till I can play online.
& it's great to see how awesome this site looks and to see that there is still a dedicated forum leadership keeping everything rocking along.

Thank you, it is very good to see familiar names here. When I finally get online no doubt I'll get my bottom kicked for a while. And also I dunno what quality of connection I'll be able to get from Bangkok, hopefully good. Have fun.

Well put Avogadro, the connections here certainly are very good, there's no limit as to how many you can hook up with. Hmm, that must be why I'm here. ;D
