Hi, I love this game a lot but I have one serious issue that I havn't seen anybody bring up yet. I'm sure all of you have played the "Final Frontier" mod for civ 4 and I'm sure all of you think it's great just like me but there is a bug that causes huge problems later in the game.
The bug occurs when there is no more room left for a "population" to go to a planet. For instance, there are 3 planets in one "city/solar system" and 2 of them say "3/3" and one says "1/1" designating all of them as full. The design of the game allows for "extra room" however by means of building a "habitation system" on a planet to allow one more population to "live" there. If I click to build a habitation system and the food bar fills up before the construction of the habitation system is complete, then I will not "grow" another population point. In fact, I will be stuck at 1 food left to grow but with every turn, nothing happens. Even if I wait for the habitation system to be built, the food bar will constantly be stuck at 1 food away for growth.
This happens every game, everytime. I try to avoid it by never letting my "cities" grow when there is no room but sometimes it's hard to pay attention when you are at war with 2 people and have like 10 cities! Therefore, I will build a habitation system and not notice that the city will grow before the system is built and I am stuck with the problem again.
I've tried starving the city in order to lose one population point and that is successful and I am able to bring that point back, however, as soon as I come within 1 food of the next growth, I get stuck again. It's permanent. I've tried reloading the game and that doesn't work. I tried several things and all they do is leave me stuck at 1 food away from growth. No matter how many turns and no matter what I do it's stuck and I have to stop playing that game because it screws everything up.
Can someone help me?? I don't think so but can someone tell the maker of this mod about this problem?? I don't know how to get a hold of that person, this is the only way I know how to say anything about it but I really would like to play that mod and not have to quit after 60 turns.
Please someone respond or help!
