Dear Ladderites,
Here are a few musings..... thought of after 16 hours of working as TD.
I was finally able to rest and realized, with some embarrassment that I was prodding someone unfairly.
Let me explain. Once upon a game, I launched with the French version loaded by the host. !!!!! Imagine launching and finding your interface in another language?? Even if you know the game well.. EEEKKK! Indeed, it was curious, however it was something I'd forgotten about when the players in one of my TD events Friday evening, complained that someone didn't end turns faster.
What if they saw the game in another language? Could we play as expertly if the game was in, say French, Spanish? Tonight I realized after leaving the lobby, that one player was struggling with an odd interface.
Patience by all would have bridged the issue. Perhaps the English speakers, who were impatient with someone letting full turns run out, might have been slow since all buildings, civics, etc were not in their first language.
I apologize and hope the others might review their feelings in the CCC game in question.
Playing in our league is about making fun for all, and to bridge our many worlds. We are ONE league.. so lets do our best. Maybe the person was slow even in their own language.. Who is to know.. however shall we remember that the ladder is not really about ME it is about US.
Which brings me to another point. Isn't it about time some clans present a great TD candidate to help with events for the CCC? Some are freeloading. The same old TDs get overloaded, get abused, spoken badly of and feel like moving on. It is time every clan consider their most likely player to apply for TD and to help us share the load.
One day I would actually like to play for my clan, but know I will be too tired to do well for my friends. How about it guys? Who is freeloading and only showing up for ccc to show off their skills, then disappearing? You are most welcome to help bear the load. This is your ladder isn't it?
