CCC XXV Ironman.
It is usually difficult to find everyone, so as usual, here's the place to gather.
I will put up the Cases page for sorting odds and evens for our heats if we need them. Look for the tourney page closer to the event. I will update this thread with the link later today.
Please sign up for the ironman. Who is your Friday player? Who is our Saturday player? What clan will you represent? nols

I have tried to contact a TD for 2 hours, but no hope. The rule say: "the order of selection will be based on the results of CCC XXIII (The last CIV4 CCC). On all other days, where CIVs are chosen, the order of selection will be based on the currently posted standings on our web page. Where necessary, the top current player rank per team will be the tiebreaker." It's not clear if continuation of event 2 is a friday or a satuday event, anyway, in both case, I don't understand why others players have left no choice to the LKT player and say him: you pick in last No explanation, much irritation from others players that's not cool. Indeed: If continuation of event 2 is a friday event: 1. GC 36 points 2(T). Illuminati 31 points 2(T). NoD 31 points 4. MUD 17 points 5. MDR 16 points 6. LKT 9 points 7. KC 6 points 8. LAW 5 points 9. VVV/LOD 2 points If continuation of event 2 is a satuday event: Friday Event 1: 1. Illuminati(Islandia) 2. MUD(AngelOnEarth) 3. MDR(Matth) et GC(GCUnimatrix_zero) Friday Event 3: 1. TX 2. Illuminati 3. LKT et VVV Registered players and ranking are: plus1.igl.net/tourneysystem/players.php?tcount=772915&path=civ4playersIn this case, LKT player must pick in fourth. In every possible case, my clan shoudln't have picked in last. I have given up the idea to ask a new game to TD, make a new game is so horrible... We can live with that. But please, keep cool in lobby, and read carrefully the rules. For the future, in the ironman, it will be nice if TD could display the order of the civ choice. chris.

According to the way SPM posted the events, the Ironman is event 2, a friday started event, therefore the ironman should use the last CCC's scores to pick Civ's. Sorry I wasn't around that early, I don't know were Whiplash was.

So we must pick in fifth, LKT can live with that.

We did have a debate in the lobby as to the validity of the picking system in the Ironman event, what with india being way overpowered in this scenario, I'm not saying you pick India you win, but your gonna be well in there? I see no reason why duplicate civs should be against the rules. Hell I would rather see 8 Indias in the game than give a player an unfair edge before the game even starts, but then we all said these sort of things in the staging room. Also players through no fault of there own are relegated to obviously inferior civ picks which is odd? This seems to me like a throw back to c3c rather than a legitimate rule, but hey that's just MO and the other 8 players forced into this picking system in the event

If Ghandi is so over-powered, maybe it should be banned in the future,
But I think a game where 8 people play the same civ would be pretty boring. Why don't we just play without civ abilities at all?
There is a marginal advantage to picking first. Ghandi doesn't always win, just like Sumeria or Aztecs didn't always win in CiV 3.
Best, SPM

agreed not always but it's not whether he will win it's the edge that is the point. Vanilla iron man that would seperate the men from the boys

I don't know about India being insanely more powerful, lol. Althought the fast worker chop to make more fast workers to chop is pretty bad, lol.
Even in games with excellent people, on the same map, I have never seen everyone pick the same civ. There are often duplicates, but people have different preferences depending on play style.

There's a vague romour that chopping for settlers and workers is nerfed with the new patch but it's only hearsay And I have tommynts save in case anyone wants to see his empire. After the event has finished obviously, although I think it has just the results aren't posted.
