Great!! Just in time for my return to multi-payer civ ladder. After a long ceremonial burial, ArmoredSkeleton rises from the grave.. Watch out admins, and get ready to make your loss reports. By the way, where do I find matches? What server? ArmoredSkeleton

WB, the details will be released when the new sight is ready to go live, unless you have time to help test the new site, in which case I can send you a private email.

Update: Due to some unforeseen real life issues, the new league code will not be done until the 1st Feb 08. This of course is to late to migrate the ladder over to the league before the next CCC, let alone train the TD's.
So we will run the next CCC just like the last one. After the CCC I will be making announcements about how you can register on the new league and I will be shutting the old one down in phases.
The aim is to have the entire league moved and all the staff trained in time for the next CCC in March. Our new league will usher in a new era for Civ4players that will give us a league tailored to our needs and completely customizable for our future requirements. If you have any questions when this process starts feel free to ask, but please give this your full support and communicate this info to anyone that does not regularly read the forums.

Making reports is rather annoying, and alot of people dont bother making them alot of the time (although i do all of mine just for the record). So a system where only 1 person has to make the reports will be really nice, and non-reports should go to near zero.
But when you have a system where you can make reports for other people, there is a huge opportunity for abuse. I just hope US patriot, or someone similar dont come back anytime soon, he could do untold damage?
I know the french have a similar system, but there league is rather small ... a village if you like.
Just like RL - No crime happens in villages.

Well one person reports, but 50% of the other people have to confirm, unless no one disputes the match, and it gets auto reported after 3 days. If people were to let others abuse this then it would be there fault for never disputing a match that they are forced to at least know about as soon as they login to the web site. So yes there is some small margin for abuse, but that is acceptable.

This is a bit complicated I think....50% of the rest of the players have to confirm? What if everyone is expecting the others to confirm and at the end no-one confirms?
Also 3 days to auto report? So for 3 days it does not count?
Also what happens if someone quits and the others continue either with AI or sub? Who does the quiter report to and how? The new system does not seem to allow this possibility in team reporting.

I've had google analytics running on both the case's site and the forum, so I have some idea on how much traffic we get here atm. I also have access to google adsense, and it is an option if we need the revenue. We are going to go with no ad's at this time and will try to keep the site ad free as long as we are able. Once we are up and running and we see what we have coming in and such we can look at it again from there.
Maybe we could put in some league bucks and you can colect 10000000 for a mouse pad

Players should expect that they all should try and confirm the winners report. And if they are slower than the others they won't be able to.
And the new rules are very clear that players that constantly abuse the 3 day system will face penalties.
Officially we don't really support subs, they are just a gentlemens agreement. This is no change from now. Players that drop are simply losing players, unless in a team game there team comes back and wins.
I will look into how we can support giving subs the wins in the systems code.

What happens frequently is that quiters are asked to report to all, even teammates. Which I think is fair since you might not be able to find a sub anyway and will either play with AI and lose or concede.
This is the case that I think needs to be clarified as I happens all the time.

The anticipation of a new ladder has compromised the old one, and restricts ladder play. I suggest we go live with the new ladder page as soon as possible even if it is not perfect.

Yes I have been watching the numbers in the daily reports(not to mention the top 20) and I have suspected that people are taking the dying breathes of Civ4players as an excuse to ignore the rules. ( I would caution people not to get in the habit of ignoring the rules as they will be well enforced on Civplayers League)
Slaughter uploaded the tournament code on Friday but of course was playing on the CCC team for MUD this weekend. There are a few bugs to sort out on that, and then the TD's need a few days of testing it before we declare that the system is at th 90% mark.
As soon as I the development team thinks that the system is at the 90% benchmark I will start the process of migrating the league. I'm hoping that that happens next weekend but I'll keep everyone updated.

Thx for posting that Ape. Ya. Just realized last week people are acting like Old Ladder = lame duck. We can cope with the current Interregnum Lawlessness of c4p and move forward. Hope for the best.

good idea, if you sub out of a game you should report the other team no matter what at the very least.
